Should Detroit make a push for Guentzel, Buchnevich or Tarasenko? | Dylan Larkin to miss time

Dylan Larkin is hurt for approximately two weeks, putting Detroit in a tough spot during the cross-roads of their season. With the Trade deadline approaching, does this change their approach? With Pavel Buchnevich, Jake Guentzel or Vladimir Tarasenko possibly on the market, should Detroit make a play for any of them? #LGRW

  1. What about trading Holl for Dumba. Dumba is physical and expires at end of year. Small change but better for the team overall in unloading Holl

  2. I just saw today that the Wings only have 12 million of cap space. We still need to sign a good amount of players. I'm wondering could they bring up Berggren or Casper to see what happens instead of getting into crazy trade deadline stuff unless we can dump a contract to give them more money on the cap to help in the off-season

  3. We have to release petry holl and kostin. Holl and kostin never play but there costing us money. Petry plays and he just is awful. Im sorry, he is so frustrating. We mine as well play shorthanded when petry is out there…he is invisible. He should take gostisbheres nickname ghost. Lol

  4. Stevie Y isn't a mortgage the future kind of guy. More like stay the course! Stevie wants a cup not just playoffs!

  5. I am hoping that the Wings focus on D at the deadline. Guentzel would be nice but with Larkin a center we need someone like Buchnevich.. I don't think Stevie will make a lot of moves.

  6. It was a fun run,
but the Wings won’t trade for anyone and will eventually miss the playoffs by 3 points..🤦🏽‍♂️

  7. I would love to have Rasmus Andersson from CAL! He's an RD we need, want and would love in Detroit right now. He has a good shot, is a good skater, an aggressive defender, an agile player who can also be found on the offensive. He is also good on the power play and box play. Furthermore, he is relatively cheap (4.55 million) and still has a 2-year contract. He would also be a good teacher for Sadin Pelikka (RD) in the future.

If we get Andersson, I would give: Ghost, Berggren, 2nd 2026 (maybe another prospect or player). That would be worth it to me!
But I'm not SY, so who knows what will happen?

I would only look for a center for next season and take my time and be careful about which one I choose so that I wouldn't have a second Copp on the team (overpaid and with mistakes).

I would choose Eriksson-Ek (5.25 million) 5 year contract, he is also relatively cheap, a salty player, like Andersson! He can be found in front of the net, does the dirty work, is good at passing and, most importantly, he scores goals (plays both power play and box play). I don't know which players I would give away.
Of course, those we want to get rid of are mentioned again and again! Realistically speaking, it will probably be more of the players we want to keep.

Maybe that would be OK for MIN: Valeno or Compher (because Danielson or Kasper could play 3rd center in 2024/25), Määttä, Fabri, picks and I would even give MIN a little more for him if that wasn't enough
    ???

  8. Moving out Holl would be the only likely move to make as Edvinsson probably ready to move up. Yzerman would likely have to retain 50%. Petry would move to the Holl slot as the extra D man… we do need a top 6 winger however I don't think Yzerman will address until the off-season.

  9. I've been saying we need to get a center. I would over spend a little to get a quality center. The wing is our most stocked cupboard use that to our advantage.

  10. I have no interest in Tarasenko. At a certain point with Larkin it’s probably more genetics than bad luck. Some players bodies are just more injury prone. It’s kind of frustrating tbh. I feel like we’re a physically fragile team. Panthers can play bang em up hockey every night and not get a scratch. I think a lot of our guys need to really put on size and strength in the off season. Especially Rasmussen.

  11. No trades. We are not there. Experience the playoffs and see who stays. Bring up mazer and trade burgers for picks unless we can get a great deal on a long term guy. The playoffs are 2 months of floridas

  12. I'd pass on Tarasenko. If you wanna give a "once-dominant player" his chance at a redemption arc, you should grab him in the offseason. I liked Kane prior to his signing, though I did have to warm up to the idea a little first. On the Sens though, Tarasenko looks out of sorts. Whether he's not meshing with the Ottawa roster or he's simply gone farther downhill than anyone thought is a question I can't answer, but also a question I don't want to learn the answer to by giving up assets for a player who isn't going to help.

I very much prefer acquiring a defenseman instead of a forward at the deadline,
