  1. As a Canucks fan I have to say…Travis Green is the worst coach weve had in my lifetime. And it isnt even close. NJ deserves better than Green.

  2. About flipping out Toffoli. Nothing is stopping the team from acquiring future picks (2025, 2026) and flipping them in the summer for players that will help their team next year.
Nothing is also stopping Toffoli from returning to NJ in the offseason.

  3. I say trade Tofolli if he cannot be signed by trade deadline. Get assets and you can sign free agent veteran forwards in offseason and use picks to get other pieces needed to round out team. Devils need to get bigger forwards to play in playoffs.

  4. Just curious why Toffoli would want to return to NJ. They probably won’t offer him the most money and they’re not offering an eighth year. If he does return, he can do it on the open market

  5. Devils have way too many pricey forward contracts at this point, signing 7+ veterans to multi-year deals (Jack, Hischier, Bratt, Meier, Palat, Haula and now potentially Toffoli) is going to make it extremely difficult to extend their younger players (Mercer, Holtz, Luke and Nemec) in a few years. Not to mention the cap space they'd need for a legitimate goalie, extending Toffoli when we can slot Holtz or Mercer into the top 9 is bad cap management, ESPECIALLY when he can be flipped for a 1st round pick.

  6. Not too many teams in this league that feel “complete”. Sometimes it’s cause of cap issues and big contracts that make it hard to fill gaps. Sometimes it’s the guys on the ice not living up to expectations. Could be a real Interesting what happens at the deadline as far as the direction GMs decide to move in and what kinda desperation levels there are

  7. Tom Fitzgerald knew there was a goalie issue since the end of last year's playoffs and sat on his hands the entire offseason. The lack of a legitimate 1A goalie reared its ugly head around late November, and Fitz had an opportunity to acquire Markstrom, but the deal fell through due to salary retention. Fitz has been out to lunch ever since. Bringing in a goalie in November would have very well resulted in the Devils well in a playoff position. Fitz deserves a majority of the blame, for this season going south, having not addressed the biggest glaring hole in this roster.

  8. We need wholesale changes, whole coaching staff and Fitzgerald! They’re all terrible! Travis Green should just be a power play coach cause that’s all he was good at when he was playing wayyyy back then! The Devils are tanking and it may not even be on purpose

  9. Solid analysis 👌
However, NJ can not give Toffoli the most years for the most money.
As a fan, I want to keep Toffoli.
    However, I understand the business.
The play here is to flip Toffoli to the highest bidder and wish him well on his upcoming playoff run.
Nj should be trying to sell a few others as well.
To then take those assets to get a real deal veteran defenceman & flip it also for a quality legit goaltender (s) from a team looking to cap dump.

    Edit: Oh yeah, obviously,
    FIRE Fitzgerald 🔥

  10. Good Video. Believe me that Lindy Ruff isn't the problem. GM Tom Fitzgerald, who got extended, ironically, made so many moves, especially with Tiffoli, Meire, Palat & others that gave Lindy Ruff a poorer team. Let me know what you think. It'd have been nice to get Lindy Ruff A Decent Goalie, do you not agree (as Kypro said in his comments), prior to getting rid of Lindy Ruff.
