Tim Donnelly says the Carolina Hurricanes must be willing to take a risk at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline to acquire a player that can help elevate the roster as the Hurricanes look to win their first Stanley Cup since 2006, with that player possibly being Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel.

In 2006 when they won the cup, they had two rentals: Recchi and Weight. So there’s that.
Wadell needs to push the bottom. Get it done!
Won't happen
I wouldn't mess with the starting goaltending situation. Let Kochetkov build up that confidence and keep playing. Unless it's someone like Saros or MAF (who isn't moving apparently). Forward help or some depth D is the way to go. I'd sell the farm to bolster this squad and go for it. We can beat New York, Florida or Boston in a playoff series with the right pieces.
I really do think we need to get Guentzle…
