The Blue jackets might want to focus a bit more on hockey than throwing punches since they sit in the bottom of the Metropolitan division, while the Rangers sit at the top.

I hope the NHL isn't going back to the days where they started drafting fighters instead of skilled players. We had to watch a lot of crappy hockey for too long. I like to watch fighting too but that's why there is MMA. And I really do fear that this 21 year old kid for the Rangers will end up with brain damage like a number of other guys either from punches or hitting his head on the ice. I'm sure he's a good kid but this is worrisome.
It's really weak. These old heads dont stand a chance in this league. Fighting is dumb. Just have guys like Boogard and Scott slash goalies and get roughing minors. There is no reason to fight. it's not beneficial to the team. (Unless your team is full of weak people)

Mark Martin did the same thing in Rempe's first game. For those who claim Olivier has class, how exactly do you come to that conclusion, based upon HIS pregame challenge? Proving to act like a bully doesn't exude class.
Oli is a class act. We as fans don’t have to worry about Rempe. Don’t know why you’d say that. He’s made a choice. He has people behind him that know more about what he’s doing than you and I can ever imagine.
He gets counter punched a lot because by the time his hand comes back the other guy hits him since he gets closer.A fast puncher,esp if a lefty,will cause him problems.He has small hands,another😅 problem.Hoping that. He would not be a tomato can withinh a short while..Reminds me of Sarandon s young pitching boyfriend in that baseball movie with Costner,Bull Durham . . He s still in the clouds, another concussions casualty if he does not change several ways to fight

It just reminds me of guys like Barry Beck,Probert,Chara,Lucic and,in my opinion,the guy who could beat anyone while being able to take punches and keep his helmet on,Mc Grattan.There s no real tough guy in today s game,and Rempe has a lot to learn while fighting guys like Mc Illrath,Reaves,,,, He gets hit to many times and that face will change its shape pretty soon.Does his mate , Edstrom, Fight or just stand there ??🎉

Old Time Hockey. Glad fighting isn't disappearing much. It dropped at the end of the 2010s but seems fairly consistent the last 3-4 years.
Once he develops a good defensive strategy during a tilt he could be the next Probert. He's got the willingness,size and reach to be a dominant force.
