[Yohe] Multiple teams are in on Guentzel, obviously. But I’ve been told by numerous sources that Vancouver is very aggressively trying to make a deal happen.

Please don’t trade Hog. The guy is the top 5 on 5 goal scorer by time on ice. I mean I’m sure the front office looks at analytics like this so they know what they have.
I just hope we can get the deal done without Hog, Lek, or Willander.
I don’t want to give up Pod either, but if that’s what it takes then that’s what it takes.

Ugh not loving where this is headed. Losing Hog or Pods (or Willander or Lekkerimaki) for one playoff run with Guentzel just doesn’t add up. We need those cost controlled contributors to keep the window open beyond the next year or two. Hogs would be the most gutting to lose. Why not give this team a shot this year as is and gain some playoff experience? Doesn’t have to be cup or bust.

Dubas you’ll take Raty and a 2nd and you’ll like it

I think people are dreaming if they think we can get Guentzel without giving up one of Hoglander, Lek, or Willander. I think Hoglander most likely.
Podkolzin is still a somewhat distressed asset, he’s not a centrepiece. Flipping Lindholm to Boston is gonna get you 80 cents on the dollar for what we paid ie. Boston can provide some of the complementary assets but they’re not providing a centrepiece.
So where is the centrepiece coming from? We’re not getting a PPG 29 year old without some painful decisions.

The only way that I can like this initially is if the main piece, aside from Lindholm, comes from Boston.
If we include any of Hoglander, Lekkermaki, or Willander…
It’s hard to say that this is going to be okay from an asset management perspective when you’re paying big pieces for both Lindholm and Guentzel but only keeping one of them…
chvan604
Why would you give up your 3rd right handed centre when that’ll be needed come playoffs.

Im just thinking out loud here a bit, but I wonder what Pittsburghs interest level would be in Conor Garland.
If they are trying to stay competitive around Sid and do a bit more of a re-tool approach I wonder if they would value Garland in a Guentzel return (with other pieces of course).

Giving up on lindholm so quickly would be a huge L for this management team.
Unless you got back more assets than you gave up.. This would be brutal.

I’m kind of worried what we’re offering Pittsburgh.
We’re a playoff team, yes, but we’re nowhere near Cup contending status right now. Entire month of February has shown how flawed this team has been. Gotta address those glaring needs (like depth on defense).
Oh boy. Unless Allvin can work a miracle without giving up a top prospect, please no.
GiraffePrint_Speeder
This would be crazy to get another top guy. I guess they know they can’t sign everyone next year already, so why not open up more options. Very interested to see what we give up.

Please don’t mortgage our entire future. I can’t endure another 10 years at the bottom.

The Canucks have been making trade deadline caliber deals all season. It’s great if they do another one but personally I’m pretty satisfied with where the team is at even in terms of competing for a cup against Vegas.
In two years OEL cap hit is 4m. I’d like to compete for a cup then too with young, cost controlled talent. Even if they don’t land Guentzel I’d be satisfied with how they drove the price sky high for whoever does land him.

Is there any chance that we sign and extend him? What do people think?

Yohe is like the Pens’ Dhaliwal
That Lindholm,Guentzel 3 team trade is going to hit like crack in a couple hours.
I don’t think we’re a Cup team at the moment, and I’d rather keep prospects than look for a rental player.
