Travis Hamonic has made it clear that he is not limiting his options to Western Canadian teams when it comes to his next destination.
Obviously, it’s going to be more challenging for the Canucks to re-sign him now.

Do you think that Travis Hamonic will ultimately re-sign with the Canucks?
I want him to but I don’t think he will he’s open to going other places now and we are not gonna be able to get him for cheap again and he will probaly get a lot more on the free agent market
if he wants more than 2 mil, we can't afford him, unless myers or schmidt are moved.

If he wants alot more money then dont sign him. Hes an okay filler defenseman. We dont really have to have him signed. He is okay but its not the end if we cant sign him for a reasonable amount. There will be others that can fill his spot should he decide to go elsewhere.
If they resign Hamonic that's a bonus very solid defense
I'd love to have Hamonic back, but if some team offers Hamonic $2.5-$3million, I doubt the Canucks will match. Wish the Canucks had him under contract for one more year then when those bad contracts come off the books, they could have re-signed him. Thanks Clay!
Send Hammy on his way! Jim Benning got his contract extension by publicly praising himself for all the young studs in Utica, like Juolevi, Lind, Gadjovich, Rathbone, Rafferty, et al! It is time to make room for these young players to prove themselves!! The Canucks are far from a Stanley Cup contender, so let the young players join the big club. Unless, Jim exaggerated the worth of these young players?
Hamonic says he loves the team, loves Vancouver, his family loves Vancouver, he wants to stay in Western Canada. BUT not as much as another team greasing his palm.
must have at least four defenders that you can rely on so please sign him 2 millions 2 years, maybe 2,5 mil. Anyone now when do u buyout players this covid season? Buyout for Loui and Jake makes sence or will it be problem with Jake? Maybe buyout roussel aswell. Beagle make no sence to buyout since u only make 800 000 which is what the replacer will cost

I don't care if they have to bury Roussel, Loui and Beagle, buyout Jake and offer a sweetener to move Holtby to Seattle (e.g. Lind). JB should try to open up the space and start the revamp now, and that includes securing a strong RHD like Hamonic (guys like Larsson and Savard won't be any cheaper). Hopefully he takes $2.5 x 3, can hardly imagine them going to $3 mil+ per season

doesn't matter if he signs, clay…you're making it overly dramatic – canucks have myers and schmidt on the right side, if either of them are injured long term i see a problem but most teams would be in that situation, i think they can sign someone lower profile guy with experience that can play bottom pairing mins
