We give our immediate reaction to the news that Vladimir Tarasenko (50% salary retained) has been traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a 2025 3rd round pick and a conditional 2024 4th round pick (turns to a 2026 3rd round pick IF the Panthers win the Stanley Cup this year).

You never know what those picks turn out to be . Do you want Vlady around the team knowing he could have been in FLA. ? The team culture is already fragile. The points you are missing is that Dorion has left a path of carnage that this administration must deal with. Second, he had a full No Move hard to negotiate from a position of strength .
Well guess its time to waatch another team. Doesnt matter who we have in management, its only downhill for years. A third rounder…really? Thought we needed vets. Whats next? Chychrun for a second? Meh, nothing really lost, not much gained. You do good by Tank sending him to a contender and you get a couple poker chips. Not much else to say. The sky isn't falling like some think. I have no negative feelings to this move. He had a full no move and could pretty much choose where he goes.

Tampa got a 4th for taking salary. So we kept salary (worth a 4th), which means we traded Senko for a 3rd, which is what we traded for Hamonic. Embarrassing

I understand Ottawa had little leverage given Florida was prolly the only team Tarasenko would waive his NTC for but forreal in return to get merely two 3rd rounders and a relatively decent shot for salary retention to boot to add more insult to injury!?!?!? May as well just been for free what a terrible organization Ottawa is and if I were the other top teams in the Eastern Conference I'll be severely pissed that they made Florida that much better for peanuts!!! If I were the new owners of a franchise Id make sure at least I don't have the WORST GM in the league !!!
