  1. Here are my thoughts on the Tarasenko trade: That's all Ottawa got back? The Sens fans that hype up the team on twitter in the summer are gonna struggle this year, I fear.

  2. A Blues fan here. This is Tanks 3rd team since he left the Blues, and the Cats get him for a couple of buckets of pucks. What does this say about Tarasenko? Rumors in St. Louis were that he was not a positive force in the locker room. I don't know, but he seems to be fodder for sale.

  3. Is sad the Sens have so much scoring. They have 6 guys on pace for 20+ goals. They can’t play D. Only Tarasenko and Sanderson have positive plus minus out of their top lines.

  4. Damn… was hoping the Oilers would take a run at Tarasenko. They need a right shot to play on the second line with RNH and Kane…

  5. People are really shocked at the return for Tarasenko? he had a 1 year deal with a NMC. Ottawa could have gotten nothing and signed anywhere at the end of the year. Tarasenko held all the power in where he went.

  6. As a Montreal fan, I’m obligated to cheer against the Maple Leafs, disregarding the other team in question.

  7. STRIKE ONE for Staios. Sure he was handcuffed with the NTC, but you still have to get SOMETHING in return or you let him walk.

  8. ottawa had no leverage at all, at the cap with pinto needing a contract next year, and a NTC meant the ball was in floridas court

  9. Finding guys who love to work as hard as Seeler does is difficult enough. Finding appropriate compensation for someone who contributes the way he does is damn near impossible. 3+ is a fine deal for a team who already lost their starter and #2 prospect this year. "The process" has already been upended but I also don't consider Seeler a panic deal. IR or not, they simply have to hang on to what they know they got until they can sort out the back end.
