This Canucks Trade Rumor is Pretty Wild

The Nhl trade deadline is looming, so trades and trade rumors are flying. We’ve already seen some relatively big deals that I will talk about in a roundup but by far the most interesting story that has popped up in the last day is the jake guentzel vancouver canucks elias lindholm boston bruins trade stuff that is has sprung up here. For coverage of nhl highlights today , nhl trades news and rumors and while of course the calgary flames edmonton oilers and toronto maple leafs are very intruiging ahead of the 2024 trade deadline, the vancouver canucks trade rumors and canucks news is equally fascinating. 1. Nah media is farming for clicks like rumors about trading petty.

Mikheyev needs to go for litterally anyone else

  2. Lindholm should have taken the money Calgary offered him, because he won't be getting anywhere near that now.

  3. Think the Canucks are gonna have to go through some growing pains in the playoffs this year

  4. I’m willing to accept taking a decent loss on Lindholm’s paid value in order to get Guentzul. The big question mark on that trade would be what else we would have to sacrifice along with him though.

I do reeeeaaally love the idea of Guentzel on our Canucks roster, but don’t like getting rid of who we already have… besides Myers.

How about Lindholm + Myers for Guentzel? I’d see several major wins for us with that deal. ☺️🤞🏻

  5. Lindholm hasn't really worked out. And even if he does do better here in Van. over the next few months, he isn't really Van's kind of player. I didn't think it was that promising from the start, but what do I know? lol. The proof it hasn't worked out is that the coach and management can see it hasn't. In the age of the CAP, players who quietly go about their business and don't drive play had better be really cheap; more likely, you just don't acquire them in the first place. Garland and Joshua are actually more important to the team…. they need more of these initiator type players, not less. Kuzmenko, Mikheyev also not initiators… one is gone, the other won't be here much longer.
The recent slide is 50% fatigue/schedule and 50% the reduction in the 3rd line due to Joshua's injury. Shocking how important that 3rd line was. They need to keep that third line and build a fourth line with something similar. Which means spending money on performance, not past scoring stats or reputation. Lindholm probably only made sense if there was a chance Pettersson didn't re-sign. Man, what a downgrade if we'd had to switch to Lindholm! Reminds me of the Tyler Meyers fiasco: overpaying because we didn't see a big 2-way dman in our immediate future. Big mistake there too.

  6. That trade for Guentzel can happen… given they still have the assets to trade (not 100% sure)… as Miller can also play the wing… that is how he started his NHL career. So you can drop Mikheyev and Suter (a natural center) down to the 3rd line and have Lindholm now as your 2nd line center with Guentzel on the left wing. Then Miller fills in for Suters spot on the first line. Wow…. that is a DANGEROUS top 9! lol

  7. I guess it did make some sense to acquire Lindholm early. They tried him out, and it hasn't worked out that great. Now, they have the option of moving him for someone who might gel better with the team. I like the three-way deal with EL going to Boston, the Canucks get Guentzel and Pittsburgh gets a package from Boston. What that might be, who knows, maybe a 1st and somebody like Lysell. Everybody gets what they want, win-win win. However, if I were Boston, I would be looking at the Canucks to be chipping in more than just Lindholm. They hold more leverage. Maybe they might want a pick back from them like a 2nd or 3rd.

  8. I am gonna be completely honest. I'd like to see us get a d man at the trade deadline. If we flip lindholm, I'd rather get a top 4 d man than another forward. I am confident in our group on offense but tyler Myers scares the shit outta me sometimes 💀

  9. Look who guentzel played with in the playoffs, he had crosby or malkin as his top 6 centres. Im not saying he will be bad, but when pit got into the playoffs you knew they could do damage because of those guys. It would be interesting to see if guentzel can keep his playoff scoring going or he falls off abit because he doesnt have those two juggernauts as partners. Idk time will tell

  10. No… Get Toffoli, he has chemistry with Pettersson and Lindholm. That line will be dynamic and give Vancouver 3 scoring lines instead of just 2.

  11. I just don't see how it would work. The Penguins will almost certainly want a first, but neither team involved has one unless the Canucks send their 2025 first. I think even Rutherford wouldn't ship out two first round picks just to lose one of the players he spent one on
