  1. This tdl is weak. Isles need to sit it out if they don't SELL and let rags, b's, laffs and others overpay for slim pickings. Or let desperate nj fresh off of firing lindy overpay for markstrom who has two years left.
And not one trade will turn isles into a playoff contender and the big need a big goal scorer is out of their range asset wise. A low cost move could be ufa to be vt $5 mill. he wont cost a lot not having a great season. Maybe a second/piece for vt with sens retaining salary? And if roy has figured out line combos by stacking his top three scorers 13/14/29 on top line keeping 44/21/27 as second line a good depth scorer for third line would be needed. And last time louzer made that move he paid a hefty price of first, second for 44 plus 6×5 overpay deal that came with it.
Oh well not much isles can do. And the nightmare scenario with isles hot and not completely out of it another louzer trade just to chase eighth coming up and giving up yet another first in deal. And louzer usually strikes early. The fact he hasn't yet means the pickings are slim and the prices very high right now with only half dozen 'sellers' out there. And with toffoli, hanifan, guentzal, others out there for contenders like av's, b's, oil, vgk, isles aren't even on the tdl radar. b's rumoured to deal '25 first for hanifan. la could be in on toffoli and goalie. oil/vgk looking at guentzal/forward. henrique to rags. Ullmark's name is out there. Vatrano, buchenvich, too. tb with nothing to offer looking for deal. Even vt has been mentioned back to rags or to vgk., sj, quacks, az., sens, blows, flames, even pens looking for re-build pieces looking to dump players. Kraken with ebs. Mantha from caps as well. Isles can't compete in that market and should dump salary like 44, 27, and even 15 to a team looking for 4th line grit. And louzer got no assets or cap room to play with which means NO DEALS FOR louzer without first attached to it. And 26 wont get isles shit. 10 on the other hand should be dealt if a worthy trade is out there for a scorer.

  2. we can improve a lot from within simply by removing wahlstrom and martin and adding maggio and ishikov it could very well put us over the hump

  3. If the islanders trade for anyone at this deadline Lou needs to be fired. He shouldn’t be allowed to trade for anyone. He should be trading players, not acquiring them. Sell everyone u can. Nelson, palmieri, pageau, anyone who doesn’t have a 237 year contract. Get what u can. We are not making the playoffs. Even if we do, we are out in 5 games against any team in the east. Sooner people wake up to that, sooner things start moving on the right track. We buy anybody we just delay the inevitable and waste another year of not gaining assets.

Edit: and when I mean 237 year contract I mean mayfield and engvall, who are impossible to trade. Keep horvat barzal, Sorokin Romanov Dobson etc. keep Pelech and pulock too. Every else can go, including Lee.

  4. As much as I love the 3 game winning streak, It also fills me with dread. Firs rounder for some 30+ year player on a horrible contract.

  5. Lamarillo should be walking around with a Flag pole look at my guys see see told you I had faith in them, ok great now don’t make any retarted trades or any stupid moves, go with the team we have and stay in our system bring up our younger players, great show thank you Gil, LGI !!!

  6. We should be sellers rather then buyers. One of the oldest teams in the league and not much in the line of prospects knocking on the door to the NHL. We are on the outside looking in as far as the playoffs.

  7. Good morning Gil, I agree with everything you are saying 🎉🎉 just leave the team alone and hopefully with the new coaching from Patrick Roy will continue to help 🎉i hear the weather at home is bad. Hollywood Florida weather has been fantastic 😊 but I do miss home and my wife 😊

  8. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The trade deadline is on Friday, and I'm curious, and worried as to stays, and who goes. Travis Green is the interim head coach of the NJ 👿. As I said before, The Islanders need to get a Sundance Kid if you know what I mean. If the get Shane Pinto, that would be nice he's only 23, he's from Long Island, but could he handle playing in front of the 🏡 crowd at UBS Arena every other night? Can The Islanders make St. Louis 🎶 The blues this ⌚ I hope so. If they stay out of the box and keep piling on the pressure, they should be fine. They need to play 60 solid minutes before they go to CA. HAPPY 🎂, BRYAN BERARD. Hear from you tomorrow, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  9. I was mentioning Duclair a few weeks back, mainly because he's cheap and we have less than zero cap space right now. Duclair has had some good years when playing on good teams. Problem is, the team is playing so well, nobody is coming out. I don't think any depth trade makes sense now.
We need to dump Bortuzzo and Fasching just to meet cap. Fasching's play fell off a cliff this year. Getting rid of those 2 only gets us cap compliant, so someone else would have to go. IF Mayfield is LTIR, Duclair's cap would fit and we would have the roster spot. That would also bring our D-core down to 7, which is probably the number Roy would want going into the playoffs.
If Mayfield is healthy, we would have to dump one of our regular healthy scratches, Bolduc or Wahlstrom, or send one of our 2 waiver exempt players (Holmstrom or Maclean) down to the AHL. I doubt Lou goes that route considering how well both are playing right now.
In the end, any forward we can afford (without trading a regular or 2) would be a depth forward to replace Wahlstrom. Would that make sense?

  10. Good morning team. Hey Gil, how is everything going with you. Trade deadline Friday, and Mr. "I'm going to be silent about my thoughts," is not letting us know anything about his plans. If I could throw my 2 cents in, I would like to see the chance of adding a top notch defenseman. If that's not possible, then a winger that would rival Barzy's speed. A player that could enter the zone and set up other players going to the net. Now I'll just sit and wait to see what Lou does. I was very much hoping for the Blues to win in regulation, but we need to take the two points from them tonight. Everyone, cross your fingers with the back to back and travel, the Blues will be a sloppy tonight. Everyone have a great day! Enjoy the game tonight. See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  11. Hey Gil – at this point Lou doesn't have a card to play anymore after firing Lambert and Trotz never mind the fact he is in Cap hell because of his own trades and bone headed signings and extensions. Ownership has got to take a more hands on approach with this club and take the keys away from grandpa now. There is no reason to believe that this time Lou is going to get it right and make a good quality trade without giving up way to much and too much of this teams future, I think back to the movie Draft Day with Kevin Costner who gives away 3 years of the Browns 1st round picks and then in the end it all works out as he gets exactly what the team needs and the fans wanted but sadly that is just a movie and in the end his inability to trust rookies and younger players are what will be our downfall I fear. Personally if we can get Pinto and Chychrun from Ottawa by giving up Pageau, Wahlstrom and a pick iId be happy.

  12. I wouldn’t mind Bo coming back if you can get for nothing in return, he’s not that old and he’s probably better than the other players on that third line

  13. Can't believe how clueless some of our fans are… we shouldn't sell anyone…this team is playing amazing at the moment.. I would like Lou to add someone like Shane Pinto a 23yr old center that would help us now and in the future. People remember that this team is battle tested…
