Not trying to be negative towards the guy, by all accounts Johansen is a well liked dude off the ice by everyone, but I think offloading him will be close to as much of a boost to this team psychologically as the pickups.
For the fastest team in the league he was like an anchor on the ice. Almost like “okay, now we can actually play the way we’re meant to play” as opposed to slightly slowing things down to drag certain players along.
It’s not only Ryan but every pick up & departure the past couple weeks has leaned towards getting the speed back, and last night felt like the old Avs we’re used to seeing.
I’ve seen Parise compared to the pickup of Cogs, which I’m not arguing, but we still have Cogs lol. Personally I feel like he’s filling Helm’s role. Never takes a shift off and so far provides a lot of offensive production. Every time I picture Helm it’s just skating at 110%, emptying what was left of his gas tank at that point of his career in 22’

When does LOC come back? I can’t wait to see a healthy squad and maybe some playoff Landeskog.
