  1. Hanifin clearly fked the team over by intentionally telling everyone he wouldn't re-sign with them and tanking his trade value so Conroy just had to take the best offer which is unfortunate.

  2. Karma is gunna hit Vegas with some "REAL" injuries soon. To say you can't fake a lacerated spleen is ridiculous. Some local quack with a gambling debt will write any kind of doctors note you want.

  3. That condition on the 1st is so ridiculous lmao, the condition is “2025 1st round pick unless Vegas decides to trade it to someone else in which case the Flames get the 2026 1st Round pick.”

Vegas can’t keep getting away with it

  4. Carolina better get a deal done with Pittsburgh. Everyone figuring out how to manipulate retaining salary and plenty of teams are making moves. Rangers and Florida improved and just getting better with a rental is going to be the norm.

  5. Calgary guy here and really Hanafin is soft, doesn't hit, doesn't block shots, always comes out of the corner empty handed. Likes to fish around with his stick rather than check. Spent a lot of time fishing the puck out of our net too. He's like diet Bouwmeester, but way dumber. Gets burnt A LOT. Take the 1st (whatever year) and laugh.

  6. Put Brodie and Tavares on LTIR for mental health reasons 😉 and then aquire expensive good players and activate em 12:01 am the day playoffs begin

  7. The system does work, it just needs a simple fix. Divide ethe salary cay & everyone's salary by 82 and then the team you field every playoff game has to be below that number. That way if you can bring in games to replace injured players but then you can't send out loaded teams way over the cap,

  8. My issue is this’ll have a cascading effect for years to come as more and more GM’s start to push the limits of these legal “loopholes” to the point where you have to do this or else you’ll likely be completely outmatched as a cap compliant team in the playoffs vs a team that has 100+ million dollars worth of players

  9. a 1st and a 2nd for a playoff rental isn't bad (especially considering how Hanifin and his agent seemed to put the Flames in a tough position). In an ideal world, the flames would receive another conditional pick if Hanifin resigns in vegas… otherwise its the best return they could get

  10. I don't think anyone thinks Stone isn't injured. The question is if he really isn't ready the last day of the regular season. Sure even in the playoffs he won't be healthy but if he will be healthy enough when pumped full of drugs at the start of the playoffs then he will rdy when being pumped full of drugs on the last day of regular season.

  11. I’d say it’s somewhere between the Great Salt Lake in Utah and the Dead Sea in Israel. They’re plying within the rules, but I hate Vegas.

  12. Jesse you are over estimating what Hanifin is worth AFTER he sabotaged the Flames by saying no team has a chance to sign him to an extension other than Tampa Bay.

  13. The easy fix for this is make LTIR like IR used to in football. If you get put on LTIR season and playoffs over. The rule is there to replace the player, not to be used to field super teams in the playoffs.

  14. I think your missing the forest for the tree's Jesse. It's a Knights problem because they won the Cup, just like it was a Tampa problem when they won the Cup with Kuch on LTIR and he's magically back for the playoffs. It's a problem because so many of these teams keep winning and the teams that aren't doing this keep losing. So I guess what your saying is every team should just hope their best players get sent to LTIR just long enough to load up at the deadline and have them come back from the playoffs because that's the only way to have a chance at winning a Cup in this league.

  15. Just because it’s legal doesn’t not mean it’s ethical. It’s poor sportsmanship.

  16. gtfoh stone played 56 games, suddenly his spleen is lacerated just in time for trade deadline. let's wait and see, WHEN he returns for rd1 of the playoffs, we know it was bs lies.

  17. You can complain that you don’t like what Conroy got but unless you believe he and an entire management team couldn’t pick the best offer on the table from a number offers then just maybe the other teams did think paying more for a rental was worth it and the. That was the best offer.

  18. People need to stop whining about LTIR and start whining about double retention on less than 1/4 of a season term. I don't think the NHL has any desire to address this, but we're a couple years away from a team being able to have McDavid for around 3/4 of a million dollars cap space.
