Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins played at PPG Paints Arena against the Washington Capitals. The Penguins received a power-play opportunity only twelve seconds into the game. Unfortunately, it was Washington who scored a short-handed goal by Tom Wilson. The score remained 1-0 through the end of the 1st period. Alex Ovechkin scored at the beginning of the 2nd. The Capitals kept the pressure on the Penguins in the 2nd. Nick Jensen, Hendrix Lapierre, and Ivan Miroshnichenko all score to give the Capitals a 5-0 lead by the end of the 2nd. Washington continued to add to their lead in the 3rd period. Sonny Milano scored the Capitals 6th goal of the game. That was the final goal scored in the game. The Capitals won 6-0.
