[Vince Mercogliano] Vatrano is considered the most likely #NYR pivot. He likes it in SoCal and ANA is fine with holding him. It will require substantial offer to make a trade.

At this point just trade the 1st round for him. Isn’t it like pick 27-29 anyway? Basically a second round pick

If bro wants to sit home and not play playoff hockey let him. This is weird.

How? Drury, DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT TRADE KAKKO OR THE FUTURE!

    Don’t do it Drury.

Letting Jake walk and then paying substantial assets for Frank Vatrano is hilarious. I imagine it will be cheaper still but this hardly makes sense. I guess that’s what happens when you let Kane walk and watch the deadline pass you by.

There was an arms race in the East and we haven’t improved as much as the teams we will be playing

Edit: Feel free to downvote me but there is a huge difference being outbid by Carolina as opposed to a Western team like Vancouver.

I think i could stomach sending a single first for vatrano as hes signed for next year, but honestly anything more than that (and “substantial” to me sounds like having to add one of our good prospects on top) he just isnt good enough in my eyes to warrant. I understand the whole “were trying to win now,it worked in 94,etc” angle but my argument to that would be that some of those trades to win in 94 completely dismantled what was a decent chance at a dynasty.

We havent won since then, but does going all in for a couple years equate to a higher chance at winning the cup? or is it better to try and sustain the pipeline and have a lengthier stretch of playoff runs? idk what the answer is,but i sure hope drury has a confident vision either way.

  6. Just give the blues 2 1s and 50% retain this year and next for Buch and let’s win the whole dam thing.

I personally saw Vatrano yesterday walking his dog while on a job. Gave him a dap and told him what a great season he was having . Asked if he thought he was going anywhere , especially NY. He said he isn’t going anywhere . But the players don’t have a choice right ?

  8. Conditional 2nd that becomes 1st if we win the cup. Do it.

  9. Never_Forget_94

What about Buch? You think it would be worth bringing him back?

  10. Zealousideal_Total50

Oh please keep him, nothing to see here folks

Don’t want vatrano. He’s not worth h the asking price. Especially since Carolina got guentzel. They team is gonna be hard to beat

I’d be fine with a 1st and Sykora because I just don’t see the space for Sykora on this team until he’s likely 22-24.

  13. jkman61494

Let him enjoy Disney. Let’s not forget. We originally got him for a fourth round pick. Buy low on someone like Roslovic and hope he can replicate.

A mid level aging out prospect like Robertson and a 4th

I find it stupid to even go after Frank if it cost that much considering a lot of his goals are from the power-play which he’ll never play on here.

  14. kiddocontay

Keep him then. Frank ain’t good enough to warrant a 1st and most likely one or more of our top end prospects. The Ducks can eat dirt.

  15. I understand, Frank. SoCal is Florida minus the humidity.

I wish you well out on the west. Maybe knock some sense into Zegras while you are there?

  16. MrSpaceKook

Buch is the only former Ranger I’d be happy to bring back. He’s that good and will actually significantly improve the team. He’s also the only option left that will actually be worth the high asking price.

  17. Nylander92

but this sub told me the price isn’t a first round pick?
