The Vega Golden Knights have drawn scrutiny at this year’s trade deadline after putting Mark Stone on LTIR to open up space for deadline acquisitions Noah Hanifin and Anthony Mantha. #hockey #nhl #vegasgoldenknights
Honestly as a Boston fan the more and more this happens the less I care. Yes it could do a lot for them but it also could blow up in their face just as well. It just more feels like a high stake bet on yourself and honestly it feels good for hockey. The games feel like more.
Is it worst than the 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning? Kucherov sat the whole regular season to then emerge as the Bolts best scorer during the playoffs. It has been done before.
The teams which really lose out are the ones scrapping for a wildcard spot. When you are comfortably in the playoffs you can afford to lose a Stone or Kucherov for ten games. When you are 8th and 9th in the conference you do not have that option.
There is nothing wrong with this. There are reasons to be mad but really they have a smart GM who drafted and picked incredibly smart when they were entering the NHL. They are taking advantage of a loophole which is the Leagues fault not Vegas. Mark Stone has a literally Lacerated Spleen. Bleeding into the abdomin which requires surgery. I get why people get mad but it is NOT illegal.
He has a fucking lacerated spleen! Since you apparently didn't care enough to look that detail up. Are people really going to pretend that a player being injury prone is some phenomenon in hockey? People are only mad because Vegas wins. If the other teams truly don't want this to be an option, they have the ability to negotiate that but no team actually wants a hard cap. The point is every team does this. You can't call it a 'loop hole' when it's just part of the way the league is run. This is some pretty piss poor 'reporting'….
Those people whose IQ is greater than their shoe size do not equate a lacerated spleen (this season) or two back surgeries (last season) with cheating.
The NHL should adapt the NFL way of reporting injuries and stop letting teams use "upper body injury" or "lower body injury" to define injuries. When the Knights knew Stone had a lacerated spleen, why did it take 10 days to put him on LTIR?
LOL Cheating? No…not at all as a matter of fact the Teams that are the ones crying about it are the ones with shitty GM's who can't even forge a proper team
Absolutely no one cares about this cause everyone can do it. And for the sake of real injuries it makes sense to have so dont complain about something so fucking petty. Any other job u get paid if ur hurt at work this is no diff
This is what gamers would call an 'Exploit.' Every team is free to use it if circumstances permit. The ones yelling 'cheaters' are usually fans of teams that will have to face Vegas in the playoffs and/or 'die-hard' fans of teams that haven't won anything in decades.
They are using the NHL rules against the other teams NOW Mark Stone is going to make a miraculous recovery just in time for playoffs! VGK make me sick from first year!

preventing people from saying first
I understand there’s no cap in playoffs. Many other teams before have also done this.
If he comes back in the playoffs this looks horrible for Vegas
Don't hate the player, hate the game!

It’s cheating same as Tampa did to Montreal 💯 cap should absolutely be relevant in the playoffs
They are cheating so hard that 16 other teams are doing the exact same thing right now.
i know "Bedsauce" isn't talking 💀💀💀

"[Stone has been] placed on LTIR every March"
shows graphic that Mark Stone has extensive injury history and has been placed on LTIR once in the month of March
Hard hitting journalism, yall.
Here for all the crying
sure thing,they are scammers…

Laceration of the spleen isn't cheating
Neutral unbiased docs should confirm weather he's actually injured.
Honestly, NHL should make a rule that a player is not eligible to play in the playoff if they are on the LTIR a month before the playoffs.
mark stone will be just like last year, coming back at the end of season and magically first game of playoffs

Stone has a history of major back problems I think

How can fans be that mad…. The rule has been around how long??? Blame your own GM for not taking advantage!
Not cheating.. but dang is it a dumb rule.
Wow…another hater. Color me surprised

They are cheating. He'll be back in the playoffs.
Yes.
Lol cry more and acuse them of cheating
It’s not a flawed rule. It’s a corrupt team.
They aren't cheating, in Las Vegas the house always wins.
What difference does it make, they're not going to make the playoffs anyway.
If you’re not cheating you’re not trying
“Every team does it” is not an argument because not every team does it. Can you Vegas fans just quit being a waste of oxygen for once?
Looks very odd that Mark Stone is always out towards February, March and 2 weeks left of the regular season. Looks very very odd to me.

Every team does it…why even make a video on this there is no rule against it…
"Vegas" are nothing but cheating degenerates imho.
