It’s a decent return. Though for the Bolts standards it feels a little low considering they have set the bar high the last few years heading into the deadline. But with Bolts recent history aside, it’s a good return.
Eklund had a high amount of time controlling the puck. That's important.
Sheng posted a quote from a scout about this prospect topping out as a bottom-pair D. And someone on Sheng’s website also posted a report from the Athletic echoing the bottom-pair potential. But I am ok with this trade. We got two third round picks. Or maybe this guy is turning into a higher value than a 3rd round pick where he was drafted….but what will we do with our defense glut? 🙂
Idk why there are a lot of sharks fans upset with the return. Duclair underperformed for the majority of the sharks but that’s all of the sharks. He turned it up the past month. He got us a 2024 3rd round pick and a prospect. (Tampas best D prospect and 2nd in points in their AHL team and shoots right.)
