All right, this I can get down with.

Yoooo LFG. Very nice. We gave up nothing at the deadline and overall we upgraded after already being a top 5 team in the league. And let’s be real arguably the best goalie tandem.

  3. Zero-jiggler

Hadn’t heard any chatter around him so I thought it wasn’t gonna happen, but very happy overall with this.

Only 27 and puts up solid 5v5 numbers, great move, can he play rw? Thought he was a center

  5. Formisonic

We just needed a low cost guy, and this is a good fit.

Still has unrealized potential. May catch lightning in a bottle now that he actually has something to play for now.

  7. That has to be it, and Roslovic was probably Plan C or D, given what other GMs were probably asking of Drury for a RW.

In the end, they only moved lower round draft capital…no firsts…no top shelf prospects…none of the active roster – and did what they could to attempt to address the (3) needs they had.

It’s about a B- deadline but ultimately in the long run could be seen as shrewd; if & when Othmann and Perrault develop into real impact players at the NHL level.

The Rangers just recreated the Vatrano trade. Not by trading for Vatrano again, but by trading a mid round pick for an experienced forward with decent underlying numbers that just needs an opportunity to thrive.

This is what smart GMs do.

  9. This is a really sneaky good move. Every time Roslovic plays the Rangers his skill pops to my eyes and he seems to score an absolute backbreaker of a goal. He’s a great option at 3RW, and if he starts to unlock something, he’s still relatively young enough that there’s some upside to move higher.

  10. This makes a lot of sense for us. We already have star power. Supplemental piece for a good cost.

I am happy Drury waited out on the day. No way we should have been paying these deadline prices. Good patience here.

It’s funny how you hear 100 different names at the deadline and it ends up being someone people haven’t really mentioned. Love this move, let’s go!

  12. Could be wrong but didn’t this guy have a great a game against us this season? Good pick up

  13. MarsHotelSouth

Kept the 1st, kept Kakko, kept Jones, kept Othmann and Perrault.

I’m happy with that. Now let’s go on a run

So this is good value in isolation, but the rest of the east loaded up for war.

  15. Kreider Zibs Roslovic
    Bread Trochek Laf
    Cuylle Wennberg Kakko
    Vesey/Brodzinski Goodrow Rempe/Vesey

Love this trade. He looked fantastic against us last time we played CBJ

I dig it, plus 96 is a cool number

When’s the last time someone wore 96?

  18. Tommybrady20

I like this move. Either he or kakko will be 1RW.

… The pressure on Mika is going to be immense.

Wennberg, Roslovic and Ruhwedel are basically what Copp, Vatrano and Braun were two years ago; and we again gave up absolutely nothing.

I would have loved Buch, Guentzel or Tuch but this is actually a really good move by Drury to not give up any roster players or top picks

  20. As a CBj/NYR fan. I’m gonna be so confused on which subreddit I’m on for the next week or so when I see references to Roslovic.

This sub earlier: WHAT IS GOING ON WHY HAVENT WE DONE ANYTHING OMG MY ANUS IS LEAKING

This sub now: ohhh that’s right. It’s Drury.

Great deadline moves by Drury IMO. We may not have added the big names that were on the market but we added guys that didn’t mortgage the future and still add legitimate value to our team. Both Wennberg and Roslovic are under 30, were former first round picks and can add depth scoring which has been lacking big time. Wennbergs defensive nature could also help Mika’s line get better matchups if they end up matching Wennberg to the other teams top line. Roslovic has been playing great after the break and has 4 goals and 9 assists his last 12 games.

These deadline moves are more reminiscent of the deadline moves from two years ago when we added Vatrano/Copp/Motte. Guys that slotted into the lineup without forcing the team to mold to the new players in an attempt to get them acclimated(Kane and Vlad). Hard to say if these moves make a big difference in the long run but ultimately we’re gonna go as far as Igor and our PP1 can take us anyway.

Dual NYR/CBJ fan here (I know) – Rosie has a horrible tendency to disappear for long stretches, but when he’s on he’s fantastic.

I don’t trust him at C with the added defensive responsibilities or FOs (43.2% on his career), but his skating and puck handling are great and he’s a solid playmaker as well. I feel like he’ll slot in well with Mika feeding one-timers
