The market to be a seller was horrible. Especially the winger market. I haven't looked at the available FAs for next summer. So I don't know the value of the winger contracts we have now compared to what we can bring in. But salary retention is a definite "no can do". I have heard rumblings of Jake wanting +8 mill and Sid wanting +10. For y'all fuming about trading Jake, that's a big chunk cap space.

I think Koivunen would want to play in the World Championships after the season is over. At least he said in one interview that it is his big dream

Just wanted to note that Koivunen has already made his North American debut, playing 12 games in the AHL in March and April of last year with Chicago. He only scored one goal (in the last game he played) and even that was on a wide open net after a beautiful tic-tac-toe setup by his teammates. While I'm admittedly not very well researched on him or any of the other prospects the Pens acquired, it is a worrying sign that his game might not translate as well to the smaller ice in NA or at the very least he'll need to get adjusted to the culture and style of play here. That said, he also has the most points in Liiga by a u21 player this year by a good margin… so really who knows how he'll turn out.

Look at Jake Guentzel and Brian Rust… they came up through a system and surprised the fuck out of everyone. Bunting is a solid player. I don’t hate this move. Dubas also explained why he’s waiting for bigger moves for the summer lol you people are fucking ridiculous 😂

Being a homie in the hood who I saw at a coffee shop during the all-star break…I am a little biased when it comes to Bunts.
One thing he will bring to the Burgh is some badly needed SNOT to the lineup.
It will be Michael Bunting that will be delivering face washes after a whistle…not the other way around!
