A for me-not quite A+ cuz…i wouldve liked a reserve,veteran goalie-but ya know…problem is a few other west teams id also give an A-but they both are in the pacific.WPG probably gets B from me,& Dallas B- & thats what matters most in hockey-your division,the conference is 2ndary unlike the nba where conference is all that matters. I agree no way id give up Aninen for Kakonen-I wanted to add a veteran with Aninen staying-but they must trust hes ready,& we just gotta hope they are right.
And is there not a 3rd string,veteran goalie we could sign,& throw in the AHL in case? I dont know but it is what it is-they solved what they HAD yo solve,& most of what they SHOULDVE fixed.Ya do still have Prostopov-I dont trust him in playoff games but he has been great in the AHL.And I think they are fine on defense with Malinsky,& Jones still in the mix.Obviously we have no clue about injuries.
As far as I'm concerned, no matter what happens to end this season, this deadline was an easy A for MacFarland. It's all about knowing your team's spot, addressing needs, and getting better. He did all of that. Super pumped to see how the new guys fit in down the stretch here.

Seems fair to say there is a good reason none of you are consulting or scouting any NHL teams. Im pretty sure Bednar and Sakic have a good grip of what's going on. How much money there is to work with, who's good who's not, who is a good team mate ext. I'm glad the AVs future doesn't rest here.
6D and an experienced G would have been awesome today. But I still give it an A! Getting rid of RyJo and his contract and get a proper 2C. Walker should fit nicely on our D! Duhaime/Trenin added to our 4th will make opposing teams on alert if they fuck around with our top line and D star. They will bring physicality come playoff time.
