Seems like Sammy is starting.

  1. Yeesh, what is Keefe doing?

These lines just don’t make sense to me.

I guess we don’t learn that kampf on the 3rd line does work. Sure he gets paid like a 3rd liner but he generates no offence so now we have 2 offensive black hole lines again.

If I see knies on line with Kampf one more time…

  4. GooseRider960

Those don’t look great, but I guess now is the time for trying new things and figuring things out. Happy to see they’re giving Dewar a shot on 4C. Hope him and Edmundson have good games to start.

Man, I was rlly hoping Mitch would hit 100 pts this year.

  6. CamThompson

These lines are obviously kind of wild and the middle six looks especially bad at first glance, but I don’t mind experimenting with the new guys for the first game.

Need to see how Domi looks on wing now. He was bad there early in the season but he’s a liability defensively at centre that they need to see if they can shelter him in the playoffs. The offense he provides is valuable, but he’s going to be targeted come playoffs especially if he’s playing 2C.

They clearly want multiple RHD so it’s not surprising Benoit is out for Edmundson rather than Liljegren. Liljegren has struggled but Benoit has a bit as well. Edmundson’s role is more redundant to Benny anyways, so this was the natural sub for game 1.

See what Dewar can do at centre.

Plus Marner is out, so these obviously aren’t our “real” lines anyways.

Hoping for 11-7, if Marner is resting his leg after that awkward fall against the Bruins. It’ll give the new D a chance to shine and a chance to try out Dewar in different roles.

  8. Comprehensive-Pay925

Tavares back up on 2nd line center? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

  9. CarefulSubstance3913

Why are we putting Domi on the wing?

  10. Keefe just said it’s killing him to have to sit the milk man :’(

  11. Silent-Obligation-49

Benoit and McCabe has been our best d pair since they were put together. This makes no sense.

  12. Marner is considered day-to-day with lower body injury.

  13. Leafs3489

Seeing Benny out is sad. Guy has given everything he can and has played so well this year

  14. Sirrebral99

Don’t take this as the long term fit for these lines, have to use the last month of the season to find out who fits where. Marner out, flu bug still kicking, getting Holmburg back up to speed / Knies hit by Marchand last game… on top or finding a spot for the new additions.

Gonna be a lot of blendin’, folks

  15. Junior_Chicken34

we really got a big guy who sucks at d to replace a big guy thats good at d

Edmontn on that 3rd pairing should be interesting. Like one shift it’s McDavid the next who knows?

    Let’s go!

  17. ElephantShell34

Praying the Kampf as 3rd C thing is just a shakeup because Mitch is out because that definitely can’t be a regular thing moving forward.

Gotta say I think I’d rather have Benoit in the line up over Lily. But we should be able to give some maintenence days now. Lily better have a game tonight. He’s been getting caved in. Hopefully the stress of trade deadline is behind everyone.

  19. wildwestoutlaw2020

Anyone else in the lineup dealing with flu or sickness?

  20. Keefe said Benoit is sitting and I am at a complete loss.

Taking Benoit out and putting Edmundson in is pretty lateral and a waste of draft picks. That being said, I feel like Edmundson could unlock Liljegren to play more to his strengths. Brodie-Liljegren had two puck movers both weak in front of the net. So they dominated weak teams and got hemmed against heavy teams. Edmundson could just hang back and clear the bodies in front and allow Liljegren to position himself for the zone exit.

Now Brodie-McCabe. Brodie can move the puck better than Benoit so that could be an upgrade on that line but Brodie is weaker than Benoit in front of the net and along the boards. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this pair do fine against Montreal and get eaten alive against a Boston or Florida.

Maybe Brodie and Benoit can alternate depending on if you’re playing a run and gun team like the Rangers or a heavy team like Boston. I see the logic in the moves and if you’re going to try and see what you have, now is the time to experiment even if it sucks to see Benoit out.

Bruh sit lijlgren over benny Lilly is honestly so garbage dont know why we kept him this long.

  23. Strangle1441

It’s too late to put Marner on LTIR until the playoffs, the deadline was yesterday

  24. RecalcitrantHuman

Does anyone else see our true Connor back in the mix. Couldn’t be related to passing the TDL could it?
