A sullen Sidney Crosby speaks of Jake Guentzel‘s time with Penguins, teammate and friend

  1. Crosby only has a handful of seasons left, should trade him to a cup contender to allow him to try and get another cup. No point in him wasting away for the next 3 years on the Pens who are going to be awful. Avalanche, Vegas, Edmonton, Rangers, Leafs would all welcome Crosby with open arms. I hope we see Crosby in a few different jerseys over the next few years chasing some cups. Storied career and one of the best to ever play the game.

  2. Man, I would not trust soy boy Dubas to lead a rebuild. Dark times are ahead for Pittsburgh, but it was a hell of a ride.

  3. There is no way Crosby retires a Penguin. I know Lemieux did, but he is the only hall of famer on the loaded 1991 Penguins to play his entire career in Pittsburgh. Jagr, Recchi, Murphy, Mullen, Bryan Trottier, and Ron Francis all played for other organizations. Malkin and Letang will probably retire in Penguins uniforms. I just don't see Crosby doing so. Messier, Gretzky, Howe, and Jagr all played for multiple teams.

  4. Syd will always be a pen, but I hope he doesn't just flitter away his last few years finishing his career on a floundering team. If he doesn't move to a cup contender he might as well retire.

  5. Please leave, go compete. No one wants to see a Crosby this good mentor new talent. Thats not a way to end a career when you still have the skill and drive he has to win. Not going to happen

  6. I'm not a Penguins fan but I AM a Crosby fan! This guy is a class act and a great ambassador for the game of Hockey. I feel sorry for him that he has to answer these questions because you can tell that he is visibly upset that they traded his friend! You'll always be one of our favorite players Sid!!

  7. From Jake’s perspective, he probably will make it to playoffs this year with Canes. Just flipping the coin to the other side.

  8. As a Rangers fan, I look at Pittsburgh and see a team that hires the wrong guy in Hextall, never should have signed Jeff Carter to the deal he got an they may need to move on from Malkin. I know my team is getting to that point as well.

  9. High respect for Crosby, the business side of the sport is aways tough. If Geno and the others were playing at the level that Crosby has been playing, maybe this trade of Jake wouldn't happen. The pens have had a good run, the rebuild needs to start.
