The Colorado Avalanche capped a hectic trade deadline day with a an intense 2-1 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild. Artturi Lehkonen scored 42 seconds into the game to continue Nathan MacKinnon’s home point streak and Valeri Nichushkin won the game in overtime after Alexandar Georgiev backstopped the Avalanche to the extra frame.

    I had no expectations of this game.With 4 brand new players in,& Val back after a long absence-I expected a chaos fest filled with mistakes,& despite Minny being a tired team-I honestly would've been OK with even 1pt,& just get it over,& move on.They won the game,nobody made any egregious mistakes that cost us points-so I don't care about any of the mistakes or fit concerns-they won,give them am A & move on.Im not gonna even begin to judge or critique the new guys til they've played at least 3 or 4 games,& had a week or so with their new teammates,& city,etc.And even then is probably too soon for much.

    If you change jobs-they likely don't uproot your life,& make you leave family immediately,move to a new city in less than 24 hrs,learn a whole new system,& you at your job might need chemistry with new coworkers-but probably not close to as quick as an NHL deadline acquisition has to try to develop that chemistry. And you likely dont have know it all media(not saying you guys),& fans critiquing every aspect of your job. Just changing jobs in general takes some time to get comfortable. So multiply by about 100 what these guys are going through…R-E-L-A-X people. Yes they are paid great to do it,& live awesome lives-but gonna take some time-we gotta be fair,& realistic. I think you guys were mostly fair,but a fans-not so much.
