  1. Why did he trade Kostin. He is a big physical player and not afraid to fight a heavy weight. He was real good in the corners and coming out with the puck. They didn’t give him enough ice time to really get going. Now we have lost our toughest player with decent skill. The wings are now vulnerable to be roughed up like Ottawa did to them last year. Big mistake.

  2. Pretty much what I expected. With our depth we didn't have to make any moves(because any type of upgrade would be very minor) and Stevie is too smart to trade any part of our future for rentals or guys not in our plans.

  3. Not impressed with him. Most of the guys in this redwings team are garbage. Other teams are receiving top players right now meanwhile yzerman didn’t make a move yet. Hanapin would have been a good fit but golden nights got him instead. Guentzel got snatch by hurricanes. Panthers got Okposo. I am not impressed at all with this so called yzerplan 👎🏽

  4. I suspected moves weren't made because Yzerman wasn't able to. People wanted him to get rid of Holl for example but for that to happen teams would have to want him. I suspect teams didn't express much interest in any of the players Yzerman would've been willing to part with and/or were asking for more than Yzerman was willing to give. People would be outraged if Yzerman traded away one of our prospects for a rental or star player now (which would possibly be enough to get us in playoff but I doubt get us far in the playoffs). Yzerman wants to build sustained success not swing for the fences at the first opportunity to make the playoffs.

  5. Four straight losses and on the way to another dry postseason! Outscored 20-5 in the last four games, including being shutout twice! Great job!

  6. I'm indifferent on our trade deadline. He did Kostin a solid, and decided he valued our prospects/draft picks more than he valued a rental. Good on him, and good for our future.

  7. So much overreacting and short sighted thinking: yes, making playoffs would be great this year. Yes there were players that could have helped make that happen. Why trade away pieces of our future so we can play Florida or New York in the first round? If we get there with this roster, amazing, that would be great for the team. If we have to trade prospects and picks to get there it’s simply not worth it. This was never the year to compete for a cup. Yzerman is sticking to the plan and that will be best for long term success

  8. Steven Y is right. Their not good enough to make a long run into the playoffs and to make stupid trades ie not up his alley
