SARCASM Great asset management, three C-level prospects that will likely never play in the NHL, a guy in Michael Bunting who will be waived next year along with two inconsequential draft picks. As a Penguins fan, I'm ashamed with how this team was constructed on Dubas' watch.

Wish you the best Jake, I was hoping for multiple prospects in return & hope they hit on at least on of them. Bunting brings some much needed chippyness. Heartbroken but hopeful.

I have a feeling that Bunting will become a fan favourite in Pittsburgh, so that on its own is a win (from a certain point of view).

Pens fan for life here. This is a pretty good return. Getting a roster player that seems like the grinder playstyle would go well with Crosby. Essentially getting three 2nd round picks/players. 2 of which are further along in their development. And two 4th/5th round picks/players.
As a Canes fan I honestly like this trade, even if itās a rental but of course Iād like them to keep him if he truly fits. None of those prospects outside of Ponomarev were going ti make the roster and Carolina tends to trade down in the draft anyway. I canāt be mad, never thought Iād see Guentzel in black and red
Honestly I think the contenders for the East are Carolina and Florida, I mean they look unstoppable

Considering Guentzel was gone this summer for nothing, itās a great return.
Also considering the penguins are not in the playoffs, havenāt been in years, AND Guentzel is injured, itās a good return. It sucks, but had to be done. I give it like a 6.8/10. Would have been nice to see a guaranteed first.
this was a light return imo. Dubas must have some strong faith in at least one of those young guys

I could honestly cry, the only players on the team from the glory years are, Crosby, Malkin and letang. But thatās the sad reality of sport, what goes up must come down and unfortunately we started to free fall dramatically in a year we were tipped to make one last push. Heads up Pens fans, just like after the blow up in the 90s, we WILL be back!
The only upside to this deal is the possibility of seeing Guentzel in a Whalers jersey.
Itād be perfect if Guentz signed back in the offseason. Go š§

the fact the pens didnāt get necas or jarvis in the deal is a fucking joke
As a pens fan I'm disappointed on the return, Dubas states he was going for quality not quantity and he got the opposite
I think the return was pretty uninspiring without getting Morrow or Nikishin.
Itās not too bad for Guentzel, but I wish it was a guaranteed first

Pens fan – Definitely a light-ish return because Dubas either needed a top prospect or a guaranteed first, and he got neither. Whether itās his fault or the markets, this is a mild failure. Also for a beloved player, this feels mid.
dubas is the worst gm. didnt even get a first round pick for jake. these prospects were not even first rounders. lucius was a 4th round pick. just embarassing. dubas is awful
I wouldnāt be surprised as a personal decision guentzel after July 1 resigns in Pittsburgh just to retire with them

Pens fan. i'm okay with this it;s better than noting have him walking in free agency and i would rather have quantity over quality considering how many picks we have and the prospect pool, would i rather just get the first round pick or have accepted New York's deal yeah but ill take it

Iām a pens fan and we all knew Jake had to go. The return isnāt great but itās something. I doubt Carolina will keep Jake so you could always try to get him backš. In all seriousness nobody else seemed to be biting so Carolina had him by the balls and Dubas just got what he could. Pens are younger and can now root for the canes in the playoffs
