Zack, I am so bummed that Benoit got benched, Laval Kid, probably bought (Expen$ive) seats for friends & family. Keefe plays guys based on salary, not merit. That was the last straw, I've finally lost faith in Keefe. The only possibility of him recovering that faith is if Keefe wins the cup, and I don't think there is much of a threat of that happening.
None of these leafs were good passes going to no one no where bad shots that didnt hit the net.
JT got a pretty good goal & Sammy is playing as an A goalie. So Leafs being close to being a top 25% regular season team – is a pretty good outcome this year.
Likely the Leaf GM – isn’t allowed to change out the Leaf Core 4 is my guess.
At least the Leaf GM brought in a few good players this year – maybe Leafs will figure out how to succeed in the playoffs a bit this spring? Who knows?😀

Montreal is not a shtty team, all they're lacking is a big goal scorer. I see Slaf as a career 25 goal scorer and the Habs could get their man this coming draft. I've never been a Hab fan but it's obvious if they had that Pasternak/MacKinnon type player it's iffy the Leafs beat them. It looks like Treliving is taking a stand with holding certain up and coming players like McMann and nobody wanted the Marlies players he offered. Samonov is still losing the post and leaving half the net wide open, thank God he doesn't do it all the time.
I had to disagree with you on McMann's inspired "I'm going to show up" statement. He passed the puck previously when he should have shot and when he got back to the bench Keefer said "do that again and you're back with the Marlies" so he shot on his next attempt.

Keefe is an idiot. I remember the Holl era. He's turning in to Babcock. Who else scratches a player that played well so far, IN HIS HOMETOWN, in favour of another one that we should have traded already? As for core four they never play angry. Maybe somebody should poke a hole in their favourite Gucci bag? Would that get them angry?
I agree with most of what your saying and i see it to. This isn’t the stretch we need their best hockey, that’s in a month when the playoffs hit. We need them fired up then and putting it on the line. We are most likely seeded at number 3 in the division. No use killing themselves with 20 games left.

Blinded by passion. How can you not see that Sheldon scratches Benoit to insert Edmundson because that is exactly what the move is. It is a statement to the fans and the GM, Edmundson is an upgrade on Benoit. Not to suggest the trade is bad, but it was not what the team needed. Yes you need to keep Lilje in the lineup because he has to perform. If you want playoff success Lilje must perform. If you come into multiple playoff series without the ability to put Right shot Dmen on the ice it will absolutely become a point of exploitation for opposing teams.
Benoit's game lately has been just as ass as Lilje and Brodie lately but we have fallen in love with him so think he deserves it more? History suggests that Benoit fights back when he gets knocked down so this moment might be brilliant by Keefe but all the armchair coaches here have it all figured out between trips to the fridge.
Team comes out battles through in MTL to get a win. A game that history would show we should expect to be a tough win, and there's over 20mins of uninterrupted negative talking points, lacking a single positive outlook.
Get a grip.
