[Aarif Deen] Bednar says Gabriel Landeskog will not return before his target return date under any circumstance. He says it’s “around” that May 10 anniversary of when he had the surgery last year. He wouldn’t specifically confirm the date but says “around there.”

More news on the injury front. May 10th would be around 2nd or 3rd round return for Landy
We’d be lucky if he ever plays again it seems
Dang. 🙁
Good thing Cmac was a shark at the deadline.
The good news is that it doesn’t sound like there’s been a setback. The recovery was 12-16 months, so at least they are not flat out saying that he’s looking at returning next year.
So you’re saying there’s a chance? Good enough for me.
Don’t even play him this year, not worth any risk
So we will call it may 1st see ya then captain!
I mean, seems better to sit him until next season, honestly.
Honestly I think we better off without him at this point. I love the guy as the heart and soul of the team but that much time off do we really want him back when it matters most ? Let him chill out this season and we bring him in slowly next season if he’s ready to go .
Not surprising. They’d rather give him time to heal. Bringing him back in the most intense part of the year is a bad idea and is begging for a reinjury/setback.
So, let’s just hope he heals up and we get to see him in all his absolutely man rickstness next year.
We could use him, but im fine with sitting him until next season. Get a good amount of off season training in
Sit him. No need to rush him back. Not with this injury. Let him rehab and over the summer start playing some low competition games (kinda like they do in baseball in the winter down in Mexico) around 10 minutes a game and let him start slowly working his way back in. There’s zero reason to try and play during the playoffs. He will be a legitimate target and a fuck stick like Jamie Benn will home in on that knee /quad area and start slashing legs, trying to his knees into the boards, skew foot and try to over extend him and then his career is done.
