They are almost certainly not going to make it, but huffing hopium is better than the alternative. Might as well believe as long as possible since this is likely going to be another long offseason we have to sit through.

  2. If we can’t make it, fine, but I would love to drag Detroit out of the playoffs with us.

They have like two regulations losses left with what 17 to go? It’s not going to happen. I wish I had 10% of the endless optimism some Sabres fans have. I can’t wait to be told how great they will be next year too. Same shit every damn year.

  4. Going to the game in Detroit, so excited. Hope they make it a good one.

  5. It would be the most awkward thing in the world if the Sabres made it in and had Florida as the wild card matchup. Our captain would be playing on the wrong team!

  6. It would be pretty funny if we somehow make it but ya 100 percent we ain’t making it

If they win the next 3, things would get interesting.

We’ve been out since before Christmas, cmon lol

  9. They just have to go on their first 4 game winning streak all season. Easy peasy.

    Right?….

Been using last year’s team to compare our standing this year, considering how close they were. We have four points less than last year after 65 games. If we simply match last year’s record for the last 17 games, we would only have 87 points which doesn’t get you into the playoffs in any season.

I can see Detroit collapsing out of the Wild Card, but at the end of the day, the cutoff is likely still going to be 92-94 points no matter who’s there. Maybe 90 if we get more losing streaks from the teams ahead of us. Any way you look at it, it’s going to be a moonshot at this point. That three game stretch will pretty much decide the Sabres’s season.

I don’t know that they’re close enough for this to count as “meaningful” games.

If they lose on Tuesday and everyone shrugs and says, well, we knew it wasn’t gonna happen anyways, I think you’re a bit shy of real drama here.
