It's so strange watching the Penguins play like this. They are definitely on their way down. Even though they have the star players, they're aging star players. Crosby, Malkin, Karlsson, all getting much closer to retirement age. What I found interesting is that the average ages of the teams are very similar. The Oilers are slightly older than the Penguins. The Oilers are the 5th oldest team in the league now, but that's mostly because of the players they've picked up in the last couple seasons, some of which are playing absolutely outstanding hockey (Hyman and Ekholm especially).

Ban the concussion protocol for robbing Pickard of a shutout. Maybe we should redefine shutouts to stopping every shot that's saved and not not allowing a goal during the game (which does hurt all 0 goalies in the NHL who don't face a shot for 60 minutes).
Looking at the stats you would think I as a goalie and an Oilers fan would have loved this. I got to watch a ton of saves and my team win 4-0. But it was just kinda there, and I couldn't even celebrate Pickard having another shutout on the stat sheet.
If todays effort ( or lack thereof) from the Penguins doesn't convince you to move the to the bottom row on you power rankings, nothing will.
If Sully isn't gonna after this season, the team is gonna be in for a decade of darkness.

I know the NHL loves them 2 games in 3 days and back to backs,but what they did the Pitt was insane. Two afternoon games within 21 hours of each other,away then home,and losing an hour of sleep on top of that.
