  1. Regardless of what the players think of management they owe it to their fans to go out on the ice and put in an effort. The fans need to react by not going to games. The status of this team falls on everyone's shoulders from the top down

  2. I know I shouldn't comment without listening what DK says first, but I'm currently at work and will be able to listen to it in few hours. I'd like to say something though. People can agree or disagree with Jake trade, but one thing is for sure. That trade was a message from the management that the chase for playoffs has officially ended. They don't believe in this team and want to focus on a future. And I think this is what Sid has the biggest problem with. He's the kind of who never gives up. He wanted to push for the playoffs even with the smallest chance of achieving it. And now his own management tells him that the fight is over. I think this is what hurts him the most and it's the reason why he hasn't been himself lately. The concussions didn't break him, all the hatred he's experienced didn't break him, but his own management broke his spirit.

Ok, that's it, I'm going back to work.

  3. This was bound to happen. It happened when 66 played. 66 was never a part of it, but the team fractured. It's why they were awful until they drafted Crosby, malkin, flurry, and Letang. This team is going to be awful for a few years. 3 cups and 4 trips to the Stanley cup is a fantastic run.

  4. I think Sid got very accustomed to having Mario's ear and misses his presence in the owner's box immensely.

  5. I wish they wouldve shipped out Sullivan before Jake. Why is this coach still here if he can't adjust his style to fit the individuals on the actual roster.

  6. I thought they got a decent haul for Jake. Like cmon we got a top 6 forward and multiple prospects and at minimum a 2nd round pick which is one round better than Jake was originally. So they need to suck it up and play rebuild whatever you need to do but rebuilding is and was inevitable

  7. You could feel the team's energy exit the room with the trading of Jake. I'm not sure if the players are tanking the season because of this, or it's me feeling this trade is the beginning of the end. It was difficult to keep watching but I'm not sure I'd have left my seat so early in the game as your friend.

  8. Sid worked his guts out to try and get this team to the play offs only to have wonder boy stab him in the back by trading Jake for next to nothing. We need a younger team, so Dubas trades 29 year old Jake for 28 year old Bunting. WOW what a tremendous move. If I was Sid I would have told Dubas,if you trade Jake, than trade me too. I wonder what the attendance would be like next year? I'd like to see Sid go to Colorado and win a cup with Nate.

  9. Outscored 26-5 over the past 5 games? They did Jake a favor. He can spend his remaining years playing for a team with a soul, or at the very least a team that can 'finish' in more ways than at the bottom of the standings.

  10. Your continued crying about not signing jake is annoying. Status quo is what got them where they currently are. You applauded the Carter extension and the Sully extension.

  11. I think the Pens are losing on purpose . I never saw so many Pens failing and falling down . It's very weird .

  12. Wake up DK. I hate the Guentzel trade as well but the fact is this team has gotten worse year after year for the past 6 seasons. The organization has stood behind this core until the wheels have fallen off. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. Change is always scary but it is necessary.

  13. The core have no one to blame but themselves. Their insistence with staying together, despite years of evidence of their failure to compete for a Stanley Cup, made it impossible to effectively retool the roster. And their reluctance to adapt to the way other teams now play has infected the entire organization, so that no matter who is on their wings, leading the power play, or on the bottom six, those players consistently underachieve as well. Their only hope is that Geno retires after this season, so that, along with Jeff Carter, enough dead weight leaves the roster, but based on how much of a baby he was before being re-signed to his last contract, I doubt Geno has the awareness to understand this reality. As for Sullivan, he has also done his fair share of obstinance regarding players and style of play, but it also seems like his core guys stopped listening to him years ago. It sure seems like a complete rebuild, including the team's identity, is now in order, and that just interchanging some new pieces will only lead to a similar result.

  14. Firing Sulli wont matter, its the team. You can bring in ANY coach you want and you will get the same result, this team cannot complete. The Pens are screwed and a huge rebuild is coming.
