Honestly, about as good as one could have expected. Condition on the draft pick is fine. Wonder if that condition carries over if Allen was traded again?
Would absolutely suck if he played 38 or 39 games combined this year and next, then gets traded and doesn't make the 40.
And great for the Habs that can now get back to a 2 goalie rotation and get Primeau the starts he needs. Despite the craziness that has been the Habs crease, he has looked decent, and has been put into games that one wouldn't think the Habs would stick him in….Tampa for one. Sink or swim I guess, and he has at least doggie paddled his heart out! LOL
I've got a question what happens if the devils get a rid of Jake Allen throughout the summer or before the end of next season does that change the conditional third round draft choice does it automatically become a second round draft choice?
they gave him for nothing N.J. is the winner in this one in this case they should have taken the hole salary I think huges is losing his touch in dealing
The biggest winner in this trade is Cayden Primeau. He will get a chance to finally get some well deserved games. Hopefully, he can prove that he is a solid back up to Montembault. Montreal can be the biggest winners if Jake plans 41 games and obtain a 2nd round draft pick for next year!
Allen was a moveable asset for too long. Glad he can move forward. He deserves to be a good goalie giving his best. Kudos to him for being a professional nhl goalie. Kudos to Kent Hughes for finally getting it done.
i told everyone of you guys who think you know hockey that montreal wasnt gonna move that sorry goalie screener & zomboni savard … nobody in there right mind wants him!!!!! put in game film of him on any occasion & he will show you how bad he is!!!! only marty st louie & our GM & owner see's if different & give him 20 plus mins a nite… the same brass that let savard ruin gulie!!! the same brass that watches armia play one out of every 10 games & put him in 17 mins a game!!! & the same brass that puts our none aggressive style of play!!!! & the same brass that thinks sazuki is a good captain!!!!!
NJD should have done this 2 months ago 😀 😀 In situation where half your DEF is missing and your goalies are not in form. That was not Lindy´s fault, but Fitzgerald´s!

Great deal but a little sad to see Jake go. Happy for Monty and Prime…

Bob McKenzie just said the number of games condition only applies to games next season.

Thanks Jake Allen for all the great work you did in Montreal – you are a true pro at your position.
Matheson will continue to hold back Xhekaj and Guhle. Pity.
So many ppl comment about the Habs really don’t understand player’s value, the market and the business of hockey.

Allen should easily play 40 games until end of next season ..Very reasonable condition ..
