Why am i not surprised the person complaining about trading a american player sounded like some old hillbilly who probably doesn't know anything about hockey just that its his team because where he lives and how dare they trade a american player and keep inferior other country players don't they know only the US has the best players and nowhere else ugh how dare they get some random Finish guy for a Pure blooded American.
Is any one surprised they ate not making the POs, last yr all they had to do to get in was win their last 2 games against 2 of the leagues worst teams and they lost both.
I've been a hurricanes fan my entire life since I was born in Raleigh two years before they won the cup. And this is the first time since that cup run that the canes have actually done something like this. Going out and getting the big fish in free agency shows that Dundon and Waddell want to win a cup. I love it
This is nothing compared to the pain. San Jose Sharks fan have to deal with. At least y'all won a cup. We came up close some many times. Now this team isn't good to put it nicely
I was at the Jagr game, no better way to honor him by blowing a 1-0 lead with 6 minutes to go by giving up a SHG. Part of me is happy though, because I can watch the Penguins without expectations of them being good, and can cheer Guentzal to get another cup in Carolina. I'm a few years younger than you, so for me the last time they were bad I was in middle school, and it's disheartening, but at least the first round pick pick traded for Karlsson was lottery protected 🙂
Old,that is the facts,a great team for a long time!Now it is time,hope you have better luck then my Blackhawks,though both teams won 3 Stanley Cups, I am sure everyone would take this easily!
The Penguins have had a excellent 18 years. Been to four finals, won three. All winning seasons (above .500). Any fanbase would love to have that run. I know dark times are ahead and that's ok. It's been a great ride. I will continue to enjoy watching one of the greatest players of all time, Crosby, while he is still here, win or lose. It will be interesting to watch how Kyle figures out how to rebuild this team over the next several years. BTW, we where at the Jagr retirement game, it was an awesome experience to see the legend back in the Burgh… 👍👍 That Jersey retirement was overdue. I am wondering if the change in ownership helped push this forward?
Oh for Christ's sake, get over the trade, Dan. If you know so much be the GM. Guetzel is small, pushing 30 and gets hurt a lot. Pay him? What, $8M? Let him go to free agency? Was Jake going to make this team better? No.
Two thirds of the core has had it.
Sullivan needs to be bought out and let go.
Then, everybody needs to understand that the team needs to be rebuilt.

I got to go to that jagr game. It was a shame they lost cause that might have been the last chance at happiness for the pens for a while.
