[The Sabre Report] When asked about tweaks to the system next season, Granato said there’s not going to be a lot. Mentions how it’s hard to replicate the career-highs that were reached last season combined with PP woes and missing Quinn. “There weren’t a lot of system changes this season.”

That’s notable for over the offseason some analysts said the way the Sabres were creating offense was unsustainable.
Admits not changing this season, and things got worse… and plans to not change anything next season either. A real genius on our hands.
I can’t fault them for thinking our offense will be better with Tage healthy and Quinn back but I can fault them for not trying hard enough to replace Quinn this year.
Yeah no shit there weren’t any system changes this year. Just gonna run it back next year too on the theory nobody would expect you to do the same stupid thing 3 years running? Fantastic.
On the plus side maybe this will get people to stop explaining to me that the slider between offense and defense was moved too far and needs to be adjusted back to ‘offense’.
