The Helsinki district court has sentenced Topi Rönni, a player of the SM league team Tappara, to a one-year suspended prison sentence for rape committed as a minor.
Rönni was accused of rape in the Helsinki District Court in June 2021. The prosecution started in the district court at the end of February this year. Rönni was 17 years old at the time of the crime. The rape victim was also a minor. The crime took place in Helsinki. The judgment is not yet final. The judgment states that Rönni has not previously been convicted for crimes.
The gist is there, the rest is just ‘no comment’ from Tappara execs, how he’s been sidelined from the National team and that the Flames are monitoring the situation and following the court decision.
