  1. Without Enforcers in the league this might continue. Are we gonna go back to old ways and all start drafting "Protectors" for our star players? Thats how it used to be…Is that bad or better? I do kinda miss old time Hockey.

  2. I can't even lie, Rempe was a total punk tonight. He declined MacDermid, which is fine, I understand not wanting to fight every night, but then he kept taking runs at guys and taunting guys. If you don't want to fight then don't elbow guys and taunt them. That's the thing.

  3. Its 1 bad hit everyone needs to chill out. Hes a young kid 10ish games in the league. Give him time, maybe he will learn after this hit and likely suspension. Lets not judge a person by 1 hit. Look at marchand, everyone hated him he was a black mark of the league for years. He all of a sudden changed his game, puts up a point per game and now people love him. Lets not forget that for 5+ years he was a jerk on the ice licking peoples face. People change, again lets see how he learns after this suspension. If he keeps his elbow down is this a good hit? Let him learn to keep the elbow down, will it still be a nasty hard hit yes, but fully legel.

  4. Heavy weight champion? Besides the 35 year old Matt Martin, the guy has fought to a draw or a loss in the rest of his fights. He may have the best chin in the NHL, but he's taken some pretty clean shots to the head already in his 10 game career. A champion wouldn't duck Mac Dermid and would answer the bell for the dirty hits he's thrown. He's become a sideshow, except for Ranger fans that for some reason love this guy.

  5. As much as people don’t like it, we need someone like Rempe it gives us a reason to complain on the Internet like we’re management or actually part of the team

  6. Kid plays on the edge and in a game as fast and violent as hockey, mistakes and at times intentionally taking things too far in the moment is going to happen.

He needs to dial in his hitting to ensure he is not putting players at risk, but the pearl clutching here is a little much

  7. My opinion, I'm glad the Canucks have the NYR games out of the way, watching this guy injure one of our stars and then lose his teeth in Zed's knuckles is something I'd rather not see. He's going to end a career and an invisible timer is ticking down. Will it be a 4th line plug or will it be a young star?

  8. Someone tell me with a straight face that he will play in the playoffs? Let's hear it? It's 2024. The Rangers are a good team. Lose this clown.

  9. Look at the captain of that sh!t team. When the leader of the team is Trouba, you know just what kind of stuff you're dealing with. I guess every team has a rat. The rags have 24 of them at least. Pathetic, classless, team and fans.

  10. I really love hockey as a game. Its so fun on its own and part of it is the danger of it all – its played on skates in high speed, on ice, strong bodies moving super quickly all over the rink, fights, etc. We dont need another level of danger that is unsportsmanlike hits like these. Seriously, some day (not that far in the future) something WILL happen that will end up in tragedy and then what? I am not saying its just Rempes fault as an individual, but the inconsistent punishments for these hits are the main problem. Of course players will try to "elevate" the game as they can, and if they are this type of player…. But at the end of the day, the player as an individual will be responsible when (not if) such tragedy happens. Its like watching car crash in slow motion and not having any means to stop it. And before someone says that the game was much more violent in the good old days – yes, it was. BUT the young players are learning hockey differently also. Young players are mostly taught NOT to hit and NOT to expect the hit (which I like in theory, but unfortunately, we can see it removes some of their self-preservation senses on the ice). Argh. I just don't like to see unnecessary violence where it doesn't need to be.

  11. If a leafs fan says the same thing it gets brushed under the rug or they get called soft …. But I guess I am just an apologist

When Brad Marchand licked Leo Komarov leafs fans spoke up … and we called whining babies but when he did that in the 2nd round everyone actually acknowledged that yes this is wrong.

But I am just a 1967 loser who is an apologist and does not understand hockey ….

  12. Biggest coward I’ve ever seen. Throw a blatant dirty hit to the head again and hides behind the refs when challenged to own it. Embarrassing

  13. Im a ranger fan i love Remps, but no doubt he needs to tighten up . He needs to learn how to make the huge hit without taking a run or leaving his feet or throwing a hot wing out there. I think hes got a bright future though. LGR.

  14. This was a stupid move on his part, no question, and does more harm to his future in the league than good. Bad hit, unnecessary risk to somebody's long term health, and bad for the team in the short term because you don't help anybody by getting suspended. The Rangers' bottom 6 has been noticeably better the past few weeks and he's part of that. Rempe has had moments where he's got potential to be more than just a goon, so I'd like to see him show some discipline and keep his hits clean and his brain in one piece so he can, you know, be available to play some hockey. Let's keep the wave in perspective, though. MacDermid was hassling him the entire first period, for basically no reason at that point (the elbow was still in the future during the stuff I'm talking about), so there's some backstory to it. I took that to be directed at MacDermid.

  15. I do believe that the age of the enforcers is better left in the past than updated and modernized. That being said it is better to have and not need than need and not have, This Rempe does for NY what Xhekaj did for the Habs last year. Between the two I'd rather have a Xhekaj in my lineup seems less likely to be spending his time in game misconducts… there is a thin line where your protecting becomes a liability and navigating that line requires a large dose of discipline

  16. Well, before we kick Rempe out of the league (which I don't think he deserves… yet), at least let him fight Tom Wilson.

  17. Next game is April 3, 2024 Rangers vs Devils. If Rempe is in the lineup he'll have to fight!
Rempe is now a goof for the waving after a head shot.

  18. Weather or not this was intentional, he needs to keep those elbows down when he hits someone or else he's gunna hit a lot of guys heads and get suspended a lot

  19. if im a devil, why would i NOT take out panarin’s knees next game? concust him. why not? rempe just did it intentionally to you and and if he gets 2? games…. that’ll be an insult

  20. He is a low skill guy, career AHL goon at best, 4 minute NHL guy tops. When that skill gap is present all the time, guys will do things like that.

  21. Kick him out of the league! I’m a Devils fan but i promise im not being biased here! What if the Devils go on a 15 winning streak to make the playoffs sort of like the Blues did in 2019? I mean my team sucks this year but we did pull off a 15 game winning streak just last year and a 7 game winning streak so you can’t say that it isn’t possible and Siegenthaler as bad as he’s played this season still would be a key defenseman for us! And now we don’t even know his status! Dirty hits like Rempe did last night end players careers so this isn’t something to be taken lightly! I’m hearing 3 game suspension? You kidding me? 10 to 15 games no pay!

  22. Heavyweight Champ Remke?
    Stop smoking that meth.
He's a punk rookie who hasn't won a fight and doesn't know the code somehow. He's done this 3 TIMES now. 3.
Time to suspend him and then give him a proper welcome back… aka a good old fashioned ***t kicking. No refs to hold people back.

He waved at thr NJ bench when being removed from the game… disgraceful and absolutely intentional.
    What a ****ing loser

  23. If a lot of these crybaby fans who still to this day call Scott Stevens a dirty player, despite never being suspended for any of his hits and to me was the best open ice player ever and definitely the most feared his whole time in the NHL(won himself/us a Conn Smythe for those terrifying hits in 2000) then Rempe deserves the same treatment and vocabulary cause he’s not even trying to hide that he is dirty and intending to injure players! And the guy is a coward, didn’t want no parts of the real Heavyweight Champ of the NHL New Jersey Devil Kurtis MacDermaid

  24. He's fine. It was a stupid mistake. He just needs to play hockey and stick up for his guys. No need to throw yourself around carelessly. Him waving goodbye was classless.

  25. Totally disagree. The chicken wing was an attempt to get some part of the D when it became a bit obvious he was about to miss. It happens all the time. And then MacDermid is losing his mind while the linesman and getting in between them not allowing Rempe to fight. The wave is a taunt at MacDermid, not the bench. Bad take.

  26. Its to put fear into the opponent and distract them from the game i don’t agree with an elbow but he should be allowed to fight and hit every game if he wants its been apart since the start if anything we are coming too far away from what hockey actually is now its abunch of pretty boys that complain about everything
