  1. YAY! Slafvs is the real deal! at 14 & 20 >> 34 points AND! we tend to forget– this dude doesn t turn 20! years old until May! Way to go! Hughes et al!!

  2. It wouldn't surprise me if Hughes trades his first pick and someone like Harris for a top prospect. I'd rather see that than another top draft pick that would be 2-3 years away.

  3. They need to start amalgamating all these picks and B-prospects to move up in the draft. The Habs need quality, not quantity. And no more injury-prone reclaimation projects.

  4. Nice to see CP30 get another SO! Good to see Gallagher getting some goals and Roy continues to impress!

  5. This year's draft is a defensemen draft, and the Habs are already stacked with dmen. This isn't the best as Montreal needs scoring talent (for the last 20 years btw). I still think that drafting for need is a bad idea, we did it in the past and it always sucked. Always take the biggest talent whatever the position, we can always trade them later. Teams are willing to let go of talented scorers in return of good dmen.

  6. The best pick where the Habs are positioned to draft will most likely be a defenceman. Don't downgrade a great pick to draft by need. like they did with Kotkaniemi!

  7. Jagr spoke out about Slaf. He says Slaf had the potential to be as good as himself, but he would need players to learn from to live up to it. There are not enough stars in Montreal and he became one of the best way too soon. He is like in school without teacher, Jagr says.

  8. Here is a solid plan to compete next year but also keep it totally sustainable.

    Trade Anderson for small return.

If we can't get Celebrini or Demidov or Eiserman with our first pick, move it plus non-core assets for Zegras.

Sign Montour long-term at $8M and Toffoli and Monahan (or equivalent 2nd liners) at combined $10.5M for 2-3 years.

    Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
    Roy-Dach-Zegras
    Newhook-Monahan-Toffoli
    Dvorak-Evans-Armia
    spare Gallagher, RHP

    Matheson-Montour
    Strubole-Guhle
    Xhekaj-Savard
    spare Harris

    Monty
    Primeau

After the 2025 season, we have the whole 4th line plus Savard plus $4.2M of rentention coming off the books and this $15M plus a cap increase of $2M will pay for the Slaf sand Guhle raises and allow one more incoming player if there is a need..

We still have 3 other firsts over 2 years, three seconds and five thirds. We still have EVERY top prospect, we trade NONE of them.

This plan is sustainable and is not in any way a sacrifice of the future for a brief run.

  9. Didn't think 800 likes was possible but you guys keep surprising us every day!. Got to set an even BIGGER goal next time

    Thank you guys 🙂

  10. Anderson is a good scater and a veteran he could be a better D player when in diss advantage situations.like coach St Louis saya one has to know what to do when he does not have the puck.Make yourself usefull for the team.!!!!and other also can improve .who cares if they do not win with the number of games left this season.

  11. I don’t know where you guys see that the team played an amazing game? Primeau had a great game, that’s it. At one point they were stuck in their zone for 3 minutes.

  12. loosing teams block shots with a non aggressive style.. we will never make the playoffs with savard on our roster

  13. will someone wake up!!!!!!! look at the stats !!!!!!!!! besides vegas every year bottom teams get outshot & worry about blocking shots!!!!!!!!!! wake up & look it up!!!!!! let the dam GOALIE block the shots!!!!!!!! stop screening the goalie & clear the f—ing front!!!!!!! my god wake up!!!!!!
