They need Marner back soon. Guess him getting healthy for the playoffs is the priority because they are pretty much guaranteed Boston or Florida round 1 sigh but yeah hopefully we’ll see Marner back shortly.

  2. AdamAAndrews

I feel like they may be crumpling up all of Benny’s progress and confidence by holding him out for no good reason.

I hope he is just trying to get fully healthy or something but who knows.

  3. AppropriateResolve53

Bertuzzi with Matthews was the worst line I’ve seen of any leaf game this season. Why are they still together

  4. SpicyP43905

    This ain’t it Chief Keefe.

    Put Robertson over Reaves.

  5. Vivid_Fun_977

Keefe is such a shit coach. Maybe when youre coaching in Pittsburgh next year you can tell the media how you were sure one of those years Nylander / Tavares would work…….fuckin moron… Fire Keefe, Asap

  6. Brodie – McCabe didn’t look good as a pair in the playoffs last year. I’d prefer to see Brodie – Liljegren in bottom pair minutes, mainly with offensive starts, and Edmundson – McCabe in the top 4 with defensive duties.

  7. SalaciousPanda

Tavares back at 2C, fucking why. Bertuzzi on top line, *fucking WHY*. I get there needs to be some juggling without Mitch but jesus fucking christ, anyone who watched the last game or the beginning of the season — even if they know nothing about hockey whatsoever — is well aware these two things DO. NOT. FUCKING. WORK.

I’m more annoyed about this than I should be, but fuck me.

  8. InternationalBrick76

Benny out over Brodie or Lilly is a mistake. We don’t have the luxury of lefts and rights. Just put in the best performing guys fuck

  9. real_gud_pro

This is one thing I hate about Keefe, one guy goes out and he throws the whole damn lineup in a blender.

  10. He’s spreading the goons apart and the talent apart. As much as I’d like it to be Knies, Matthews and Marner. I just know that line will get bullied during playoffs against Panthers and Bruins.

It’s better to try this approach and workout some chemistry now than later.

  11. GetzlafMyLawn

BENCH LILLY. RH ISN’T THAT BIG OF A DEAL

  12. Remote-Dog-2531

Man I know we’re just simple redditors but these lines seem *really* odd/off. Pairings that clearly haven’t worked being out there together. Guys in the lineup that should be out/vice versa. We don’t get alot of the behind the scenes info, but some of these guys just blatantly don’t really compliment each other on the ice, like Matthews and Bertuzzi? Brodie w McCabe? Just puzzling seeing them struggle and struggle together yet still try these combos again. Hopefully I’m proven wrong and they sync up, just need some time, but previous games have me thinking otherwise and a bit worried for our next game lol. Oh well, GLG!

    I’d try:

    Domi – Matthews – Jarnkrok

    Bertuzzi – Tavares – Nylander

    Knies – Dewar – McMann

    Holmberg – Kampf – Reaves

It’s kinda weird how they’ve never tried Domi with Matthews, I feel like that’d be a great fit

  14. SmashinHearts

Am I cooking too hard or should bertuzzi and domi swap places, 2nd line is known quantity and domi is exactly a marner type player.

  15. Sure, keep trying the same things that you did at the start of the season that very didn’t work. Bert finally gets going so time to take him away from players that helped him get out of the slump

  16. MisterBeebo

Keefe is in eternal pre-season mentality. Just trying shit out for the fun of it because the games don’t matter, I guess.

  17. CanOfCokeZer0

Knies-Kampf-McMann has got to be the worst line combination… It should be Knies-Dewar-McMann and Holmberg-Kampf-Reaves

  18. liquidationlarry

Sheldon Keefe keeping lines consistent to let them build chemistry challenge: impossible

  19. Sheldon……. wtf man

I like Järnkrok with Auston, but I don’t understand Bert on that line. Hope Mitch is back soon

  20. WintersbaneGDX

    Domi – Matthews – Nylander

    Bertuzzi – Tavares – Jarnkrok

    Knies – Kampf – McMann

    Holmberg – Dewar – Reaves

    Rielly – Boosh

    Edmondson – Liljegren

    Benoit – McCabe

  21. wordzilla90

Can someone tell me why the practice lines matter? Im trying to be a better hockey fan lol

  22. inlovewiththeleafs

This is a prime example of why Keefe should’ve been fired when we had the chance. Bertuzzi-Matthews-Jarnkrok might actually be the worst first line you could have created with the players available.

Why does he panic so hard when we have one injury and just says fuck it and throws every line into a blender? After the trade deadline last year; for 20 straight games, we didn’t have the same lines once. Not once did he play the same lines two games in a row. How are you supposed to enter playoffs confidently when you aren’t even sure who you’re playing with or what your role is? We ever going to play Bert with Matthews in the playoffs? I sure as shit fucking hope not. So maybe stop doing it.

  23. Murky-Smoke

Swap Bert and Domi and you have lines that make sense.

Domi can feed Auston, Auston and Jarnkrok are sound defensively.

Bert-JT-Willy is a proven solid line that generates high danger chances. Bert was snakebitten for a while on it, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t effective.

Come on Keefe… You aren’t the greatest coach in the universe, but people want to actually like you.

  24. Candid_Rich_886

    I would try

    Knies-Matthews-Jarnkrok.
    Bertuzi-Domi-Nylander
    McMann-Tavares-Robertson
    Holmberg-Kamph-Dewar

    Reeves,.Gregor out.

Don’t know what to do about the defense. Don’t want Benoit or Lily or Brodie but Edmonson complicates that

  25. Kampf 3C for a team trying to win a cup is insane.

When you consider that this is year 6 of the core, and a decade plus of whatever the hell the Shanaplan was supposed to be, that’s a shocking lineup.

  26. mattfromjoisey

Something was working, so time to fuck it up I guess

  27. Dangerois

I’d like to see Domi centering JT on his left and Willie on his right, but I suppose this line is pretty much that.

  28. billyshin

Bert already showed us he isn’t the problem.

You can’t put Domi on the wing.

JT has said in the past he prefers to play on he wing on the 2nd line.

Benoit should not be out of the lineup over Lilly.

  29. International_Eye394

how is keefe still unsure how to play these lines? we’ve had all season to test out different lines lol

  30. keeeeener

I really don’t understand kampf over Holmberg for that 3C. Holmberg makes so much more sense.
