I wonder if the players are embarrassed? I would be, 0 excuses, I get injuries but that was only half the year, what about now? If they played like they did in December and beginning of January from here on out they’d probably be in.
It just seems like they can’t even make a pass, wondering if there’s a locker room issue.

The past month or so stretch I’ve basically assumed the season was over, but honestly, 6 points out as of today, but with Detroit has been stumbling recently and the islanders are only in contention cus of the loser point. Unlikely, but if we get consistent goaltending… who knows. Crazier things have happened.

As much hope as I would like to have, the realist in me thinks they are playing for draft position and to make an impression for next season. This team is missing the magic they had last year. Maybe they believed a little too much in their success and didn’t put in the necessary work in the off-season. Maybe they don’t believe in each other and haven’t since the beginning of the season causing a dip in play. Far too many fundamental and correctable mistakes have been happening all season. I understand the rookie d men having lapses, but I’ve seen Jack look way too lazy with some of his passes. And several of those lazy passes ended up in the net for the other team. They hopefully learn from this season and can rebound for the future. If they don’t learn, maybe it would be time to start thinking about moving someone out the door to change the room and skill sets up some. Who knows, this team has me all over the map this year.
