Panthers have the best record, best plus minus and I believe about the best in fewest goals allowed with Bob wreaking more havoc. Panthers for sure looking to come out of the East again but this year get the top seed and not barely get in like last year.

Florida still has the advantage in this matchup – even at peak form, Bob is still a better goalie than Freddie and no matter how improved their scoring is, how does ANYONE compete with all the weapons on Florida? I like Carolina and all the moves they've made, think they're the only real contender from the Metro (NY are fakes-look primed for embarassment), still can't see them beating Florida.

I have said it elsewhere on the internet that the Cup is the east's to lose this year. I say that because the Western conference playoffs are going to be an absolute bloodbath with at least six legitimate contenders having to battle one another to get to The Cup final. The Western finalist is going to be like Florida was last year, beat up and may not be able to perform well enough to actually win the Cup.
Carolina has deserved love for YEARS….Sub par teams get way more hype than Carolina every year. Carolina has to work twice as hard as other teams in the league to get praise. Even the "praise" and compliments carolina gets from telecasters is very backhanded.
While East Final was 4-0, those were all one goal games with five overtime periods. The word "sweep" should not even be in their vocab. FLA literally won that series by inches.
I kind of agree. It seems like when a team adds at the dead line there is so little time for the new guys to acclimate and find there Chemistry with the team, that it doesn't pan out. Just adding talented players doesn't guarantee wins

Canes are a great team whose goaltending will not be able to withstand a full Cup run. I still think they lose to the Panthers again simply on account of Bobrovsky.

Carolina is going to be coming at teams in waves. Calgary got thumped and NJ saw it too. Not only do they have 4 good lines but they have a blue line full of goal scorers as well. How do you defend this?
The one thing that’s not really mentioned is how the Canes offense dried up. If they can avoid that, I think they’ll have a good chance of being the ECF winner. Last year was tough with injuries, but hopefully that won’t be the case. A healthy Florida vs. Carolina in ECF would be awesome TV.

Yeah well Canes had Guentzel and Kuzy last night and failed to score even 1 against Igor and the Rangers. Kuzy had been sent to Hershey! We traded for a minor leaguer. I’m sorry but Canes are only a great regular season team. I hope they prove me wrong.

West is mayhem, and there`s an Oilers problem: Jets looked great before the deadline and they got better. Avs added. Stars added Tanev. Vegas got like 3 top players. The Oilers got better, but they didn`t add a needed 2nd line RW nor an upgrade for their D.
If Avs get Landeskog back and Vegas Stone, that will be insane from round one.
