  1. So why wouldn't they dress 7 defense against Montreal? Benoit sitting against Montreal is tfs! Lots of floaters on forward who could take a seat for a game or 5. (Tavares?) Yes I know Marner is out…

  2. Most of the draft picks won’t be nhlers, the third rounders maybe get a good goalie there but extreme long shots, you can fill the minor league teams with free agents, as long as they don’t trade any 2nd or 1st round picks and prospects for rentals then it’s a good trade deadline

  3. oh i know a rhd.

    SEAN DURZI!!!!!

    oh but noooooooooooo
we needed to give him away for muzzin

    AND A FIRST ROUND PICK!!!!!!!

  4. Only goal in Boston was a bank pass to Marner right at the line from Liljegren and you are actually riding the guy out of town??? We have 2 puck movers and Liljegren seems to have to be in front of the net by himself all the time. maybe look somewhere else.

  5. Lybushkin was a good leaf in his first stint, I think Jesse is wrong on his take there. Is he Hedman? No obviously not and he’s probably the most reliable d partner rielly has ever had

  6. Bobby Orr – shoots left & plays right side defence. Would the Leafs bench Bobby Orr for not shooting right handed?😀

  7. They needed to go big. Get a true #1 goalie and a top 2 dman. That didn't happen so they should have had a fire sale and trade anyone not signed passed this year. Regroup in the summer and get what is needed

  8. I don't get how Wylde thinks Minten is going to be the next Kampf or Dewar, I thought he can be the next Adam Henrique or even possibly be like Ryan O'Reilly if he buffs up. We are cap-strapped and we need guys with Elc contracts to take advantage of young players who can contribute for cheap, he's gonna be ready and contribute soon, what player can we really give up for Minten? Trading him doesn't make sense at all given the players available in the market. Can we seriously get Parayoko with a package surrounding Minten? I really doubt it.

  9. The deadline moves were bad. Boosh is ok. You get a warm body that shoots right that the team already knows while you're dealing with some injuries. Dewar is at least defensible since he is an RFA that in theory can kill penalties, though I'm not convinced he adds value over Holmberg. Edmundson was simply a bad acquisition. Cost way too much when you consider the loss of Lagesson as a result and I don't think he makes their game 1 lineup. The need for a second right shot isn't going away in the playoffs.

  10. So all of the right handed defense that were traded around TDL and Edmundson is the defence they get!
Is there a curse to having right hand defense in Toronto?
Why does our management suck so bad?
Tanev was better, Miller was better , Dumba was better ,Peeke was better, but hey lets get Lyubushkin because he did NOT work last time so lets try it again!
Is this a joke or does TML actively try to lose in the playoffs !

  11. No…the last game against Boston showed this is not a cup team. It's not the 3rd and 4th line guys….it's the stars not willing to take a hit to make a play. We can carry two soft stars like that…I'd keep Mitch and Matthews….but JT and Nylander should be traded for a TA Chuk type forward and a strong good young D man. Then we cup ready…right after we get rid of Keefe and bring in Quenneville

  12. For once, a Toronto GM did the right thing. Giving up draft picks and prospects when your team is not a true contender is the wrong move. Toronto should have Sean Durzi, Seth Jarvis and Carl Grundstrom on their roster. Trading for Muzzin when he is in his prime AND had the Leafs been a true contender was the right move but the Leafs weren't ready to make a serious challenge. Keeping Marleau for 1 year and the Leafs have Seth Jarvis.
I would rather have the Leaf GM take another couple years to build a team for a 2025-26 push for the Cup than waste their future for another early exit this year and the blame lies with Shahan for not letting HHOF Lou continue what he had started. Build from the net out. Lou would never had spent half the cap on 4 forwards. He never would have traded Freddie or Kadri.
2025-26 I expect Toronto to be the odds on favorite for the cup and there to be a core 2 by then.

  13. Wrong take boys. Lily is perishing (or might thrive?) in a short window, which is basically done for this season, and Keefe put a nail in it. Benoit is a playoff-style defenseman and Lily had to take the starting slot in game 1 from him, and he didn’t.

  14. They paid 6 picks for those players because they CANNOT take on salary. Teams who paid nothing for players were able to absorb cap hits.

But don’t worry. We’re going to pay auston, Mitch and Willy even more and it’ll solve itself. Plan the parade.

  15. 2:58 – I wonder if in this case they allow some sort of refund or credit towards tickets for Benoit's friends and family. Unless they're die-hards and they're already going to this game, that's a different story. But if they only purchased it to watch Benoit or even Benoit purchased the tickets for them. I'm hoping they just told Benoit that "hey you're being pulled from the lineup, so any tickets that you or your friends purchased will be refunded or exchanged for a later date."

  16. Usually I'm somewhat forgiving when the crew gets information wrong about non-leafs teams because I do understand they're primarily leafs related but like how do you not know the WHL team one of your most recent prospects plays on??

  17. Benoit is playing in the playoffs. If you look at upside we have tough defenders. Everyone is panicking but we’re playing a soft Montreal team. Didn’t give away any good long term assets. Yea poor Benoit he missed a game in his home town. Move on and play him against aggressive teams. Save the energy where it is needed before playoffs. I have never seen this problem with to many defenders on one side. Lots of injuries. Healthy team we look great.

  18. there is no chance they get past the first round… and theres no way there will ever win a cup with this core… and you can take that to the bank

  19. Absolutely not, but frankly these guys are never going to beat the Bruins or Panthers in the 1st round anyways, lets be real. Going all in would've been a huge mistake, and next year will be a wash as well since they'll have even less cap space than this year.

  20. Leafs did plenty. Good on Treliving for not selling the farm. The core 4 need to prove themselves. I don't think they will and odds are they will be broken up in the Summer.

  21. Did the leafs do enough lol
They dont have cap space thanks to the 3rd line 11mill center who's degrading fast and he knows it and it's effecting him mentally. Anyone can see it. The leafs simply do not have the cap space to make the moves they need to make the next step. Adding even more 3rd pairing d who already play minutes they shouldn't is not going to help. Yet another rd 1 exit. Gm hands are tied by the cap and by shanahan
