Have created on their power play their last power play unit went out there and they had one thought and that shoot early as we saw buard with an absolute bomb off a one-time but really created nothing after that so uh sloppy at times entertaining completely but it’s an

Oiler game that I don’t know if they’ve had their best thus far but they do have a lead going into the third period and that’s a huge thing for the Oilers since the All-Star break I think it’s been a good day for McLoud he’s I mean I know

He has points but he’s effective out there he has been and when when you get moved up to play in the lineup and you’re playing now with with leyon you get a little excited he’s been very good with the puck on his stick but what I’ve Loved about his game

Is his Puck retrieval I’ve counted three times in this game where a buffalo saber has complete control of the puck looking to make a play and McLoud has stripped them and created a second wave of offense in the offensive zone so mccloud’s been very good and so has

Fogle Fogle has the goal short-handed and then we saw a rate at the end of the period off the face off almost scores again uh if the Oilers are able to get consistency out of a second line that has Leon with with McLoud and Fogle that just opens up so many other

Opportunities and we’re seeing that tonight with the Perry Kane and Henri Clin but yes I think the most noticeable player in this game tonight has been Ryan Cloud he’s been excellent shots in that period they have it at 147 in favor of the Oilers 2414 for Edmonton in the game though Buffalo had

A couple more posts in that period as well so they’ve had some chances they haven’t been able to finish and chances for Edmonton I mean Cory Perry we had the Highlight he played there Kane tried to hit him with a pass he walked in and had a backand again Perry you still see

What I’ve noticed with him too is there are times he takes the Puck to the net and and you think okay he’s out of room he he’s doesn’t have a move and even though he’s not as as fast as he used to be he still has the hands to create a

Shot he has the hands and he has the hockey IQ and what he will always have is the strength and we’ve seen that a few times along the boards keeping plays alive and then T when he takes it to the net he knows he could absorb a hit so

He’s not afraid to make plays in small areas because he’s a big strong man Cory Perry is not going to lead a rush he’s not going to be a guy that’s jumping up into a two-on-one situation but when the puck gets into the offensive zone he’s still skilled enough strong enough and

Smart enough to make really good plays and uh I I I do believe that he and Kane have played very well together in this hockey game uh creating scoring chances having a couple great looks uh Perry has and Kane as well so uh the Oilers have

Done enough in this first 40 minutes to have a lead but they certainly want to be a little more cognizant of their defensive Zone and and and their reads because the Buffalo Sabers have had some good chances and some of Buffalo’s best chances have been short-handed so

Other’s got to be careful with the puck if they get a power play again just should make note of this the Oilers are 77% in faceoffs today Sam Carrick is six for six Leon is nine out of 11 to lead the way well you’ve got you already had

Two of the better centerman in the league in faceoffs with with Connor and Leon and now you’ve added a guy that’s about 50 4% in his last four or five years in Henrik and you got another plus 50% guy as your fourth guy flying centerman so they will be a good Faceoff

Team the rest of the year and it may not every game have a huge effect on a game but you will score goals off the face off and when you control the puck off the face off well you’re not chasing which means you’re not trying to uh Chase someone down taking penalties uh

Getting caught in your own end for long extended times or giving the other team easy a access out of their own end so faceoffs become more and more important as the season moves on and the others right now have four guys that are very capable of winning more than they lose

All right so we go into the third you mentioned the other power play 0 for three uh Buffalo’s one for one so on the buffalo power play in the first period the orders got a short-handed goal and then Buffalo scored on it so uh we’ll

See if uh if Buffalo gets a call here cuz as you mentioned that one penalty we were we were looking for for it and uh the we didn’t quite see it the best for those that are watching on TV they had to go through the Replay for a good 20
