I see kakko making the same money maybe an extra couple hundred. Tops. He hasn’t done much offensively his entire career so far. Anyone can play well defensively for 3 mil. Go sign someone like Vesey for 950k and see ya kakko. Not worth 3 mil.
I think kakko goes , I hope he goes for his own good I honestly think he'll blossom in a smaller market franchise I understand it might bite us in the ass but for Kakkos own career he needs to go.
They should have traded kakko when they had the chance to trade him at the deadline for getziul sorry if i spelled it wrong, but they should have let him go then now he's gonna get signed by some other team unless he resigns with the Rangers which i doubt.

Lindgren must stay. I don't see Chytil playing in the NHL long-term if ever again. he definitely seems to be following the Michael Sauer path, God forbid. The Rangers organization may have a tough decision on their hands with that one.
have to, have to, have to keep Schneider around for the long haul. He's improving every game and I feel like he'll be a top 4 D man for years to come. Our entire D corpse should be a major priority with the exception of Trouba (who I like, but is replaceable with much cheaper options).
I would like to see us try to keep Alex Wennberg if Filip Chytil is unable to return. I need to see Jack Roslovic play for a while more before deciding. If he helps unleash Zibanejad, then hell yes, re-sign him. As for Kaapo Kakko … I'm really unsure. He's not producing like we'd like, but several NHL analysts still say they can see him blossoming into a really good player. My gut say keep him for maybe one more year, but only if it does not keep us from signing some one else we really need.
Resign Kakko, lindgren, and Wennberg and Gus if the money is right. Schneider obviously
You can't go over 5 years for Lindgren. He is a walking injury. Guys like him can't be signed for big $ long term.
Lindgren prob shouldn’t be brought back he’s not as important as people say although he has been playing better as of late but absolutely doesn’t deserve a raise he is right where he should be rangers can’t make same mistake they made with girardi and staal
Re-sign:
Kakko, Lindgren, Schneider. That 3some of players probably eats up around 10 mil of the 14 mil cap space we are likely to have (I’m projecting Kakko at 3.3, Lindgren at 4, and Schneider at 2.5, so 9.8m total).
From there, the Rangers will have several other questions to answer before figuring out who else to sign. Those questions include evaluating FAs from other teams, what is the situation with Chytil (personally, and I hate this, but I think if some other team wants him this offseason I’d look to trade him as I have serious concerns that he will never be able to be relied on because he gets the concussions too frequently), is there a buyer for Goodrow (I think shedding his salary this offseason is a huge priority you just can’t spend 3+m a year on a 4th line player), etc.
I would almost always just let Gustafsson walk, as I think Zac Jones can step directly into that role as a younger and cheaper option. Maybe if you can bring him back on another 1 year cheap deal but I suspect someone is gonna offer him a multi year deal worth between 2-3m a year and that’s more than I’m willing to pay.
If the Rangers move on from Chytil then I would try and re-sign Wennberg. We don’t have a lot of centers in the system and I think Wennberg slots in very nicely behind Mika and Trocheck. If we keep Chytil, I think that probably forces us to let Wennberg leave because he’ll be priced out of his likely role on the team (see my comments above about Goodrow as a 4th liner, but raise the salary to close to 5m).
Roslovic… I probably am always letting him walk because he’s gonna get between 4-5 million and I don’t see him as that good a player. Also, I want to open up opportunity for a high line amount of playing time for Kakko (I still believe that there is an excellent player in there who was underdeveloped under Gallant and held back this year by injury, and since he won’t be getting a big raise I see no reason to not be patient there) and Othmann, possibly even Cuylle. I’m open to re-evaluating this should Roslovic’s play/chemistry demand it, but ultimately I view him as a short term solution to the problem created by the injuries to Chytil and Wheeler, the latter of whom was always just a stopgap for a year while Othmann gets a little more seasoning.
Wait until after the playoffs to decide who stays and who is traded.
Do you think Vegas offer sheets Lindgren if they lose Noah Hanifin to market? Martinez might retire so they'll be looking for options to the left of Pietrangelo
Lindgren is going to want more that what you think. IMO he's more valuable than Trouba, and with Trouba's oversalary as a guide, Lindgren deserves at least 6M for 2-3 years, or maybe Drury can lock him up a 5 million for 7-8 years.
I hope Chytil can comeback and I don't want to be negative but for the sake of him having a normal life I don't see it happening.
