If we were aware of the injury and didn’t disclose it they’re really not gonna like that

What sounds more likely. We didn’t disclose an injury or Johansen who was placed on waivers and sent down to the minors instantaneously, invented something dodgy so he didn’t have to dress up for games in the AHL?

Is this the same team that tried to trade Carter Hart last offseason fully knowing that he could (and eventually was) indicted?
Yeah, ok. I totally believe everything they say.

I think it’s fully plausible we didn’t have information that he was injured prior to trading him, at least to the extent that he needed to be seen by a specialist. Maybe we knew he had something nagging but didn’t appear serious at the time.

Do they do not do a physical prior to trades?
Greenforaday
I feel like this is one of those hockey player things where they don’t tell anyone about an injury, especially in a case like this where he might have worried about losing his spot in the lineup permanently. Then he gets traded, and a new team gives him a physical, and uh, oh, something is wrong!

Feels like this flagged should have been raised, I don’t know, a week ago if this were a real issue.

You can’t be bought out if you’re injured, so I’m guessing he’s “hurt” in order to not be bought out of his contract

Hopefully it wasn’t something that was hidden because then it will cost the team like it did the Sens when they traded Dandonov.
madproof
He played the full game the night before, and practiced the morning of.
This is probably some injury he’d play through on the Flyers, but is a good excuse to not play in the minors.
XO_SaulTigh
I guess the door hit him pretty hard on the way out?
kissinKyle
He would be a liability in the A anyway so probably not worth dressing, regardless of which league he plays in

Don’t players have to pass physicals before they get traded or is that only in the NFL?
Sad_Aside_4283
I feel like there is no substance to this. Ryjo was healthy enough to play in colorado, so they didn’t get any more broken of a player than was already advertised. They got the 1st round pick to take the avs’ half of his contract. I don’t really see what complaint could exist here.
