One year ago, I was saying Rooney is NOT an NHL player, not only they just buried his salary I thought they would just buy him out and admit it’s a mistake, eat the salary and move on…then he was in injured list for a while and I was still thinking the same thing, but since he’s back, I am surprised how he’s actually pretty decent.. not flashy by any means but play hard, solid and doesn’t cough up pucks as I thought he would. Bravo.
With the trade deadline passed, and playoffs being unlikely, I have started to wonder what moves Conroy will make in the offseason. I could be wrong but I get the feeling that other teams will call about Coleman and Kadri because they are the kind of pieces teams expect to push them over the top and the acquisition price won’t be too high. I suspect if Conroy got a return roughly like he got for Toffoli he would jump at the offer. Taking the risk of getting the worse player is likely worth it if you get a younger, cheaper player and some draft picks.
After the previous 3 games I thought the team would get destroyed the rest of the year without Tanifin.
Good to see that even the recruits are able to play shutdown by committee.
