  1. Rick Bowness was asked if Vilardi was going on the road trip. He said that they discovered Vilardi has an enlarged spleen and they didn’t have a timetable on his return.

  2. Brutal. This was the only knock on the guy when we got him, he just cannot stay healthy for the life of him. Seeming to be accurate unfortunately

If surgery is needed it could take 4-6 weeks to recover alone. Give it 8 weeks to be ready for actual games

I’ve conducted a thorough google search and my professional conclusion is to cut it out and get him back in the lineup. /s

Maybe not the worst thing to rest up and get 100% before the last few games of the regular season season and playoffs. Fingers crossed it’s just an infection and nothing serious.

  5. WTH? Mark Stone out with lacerated spleen, Vilardi with enlarged…. I don’t think I ever heard of an NHL spleen injury before this.

Similar injury to Stone’s (but Stone’s appears more serious).

So, when Stone is ready to go weeks before Vilardi is, we have proof that Vegas is fucking the system (again) and the rules for LTIR need to be changed!!!

Oh my god that sounds bad. I hope he’s feeling ok

I slept for most of the day and night for 2 months with an enlarged spleen. I almost had to take a year off school, but luckily it was over the summer

Oh man I hope he’s back for the playoffs..

And more importantly, I hope that he’s okay and this gets treated as quickly and comfortably as possible.

His first game back we will have a Vilardi Party

  10. That’s really tough news for Vilardi and the team. Hopefully they’ve found this early enough that he’ll be healthy again at some point this year and will be able to come back. If this isn’t the most Jets thing ever though……

Ah, bummer for Gabe. Hoping he has a healthy recovery!

Perhaps there is a Las Vegas based doctor that can get this healed up in about a month.

  13. In this case you’d hope it’s an injury rather than viral…like Stone is in a better spot to recover faster.  Vilardi will be down for awhile and have to basically get back into shape.  Timeline for this season is not good.

can we assume mono is going around the room now as that is a sickness that causes an enlarged spleen ?

good healing vibes to gabe !! i hope he has a smooth recovery. hopefully nothing serious 💙 he just seems to have atrocious luck

Ugh that’s horrible. What shit luck for Vilardi. The bad luck’s gotta end at some point though right? Right?…
