  1. welcome to dubas.

first presser: reporter "what will you do about the aging core"
dubas "well we still have sully" 😮

    reporter "what at sid's contract?"
    dubas "when is it up?"

    amazing stupidity and ignorance.

  2. 5’10 isn’t going to cut it. lol ok, people keep saying that and the small guys keep shining. League isn’t the same as it used to be. It’s fast and shifty

  3. Pens may be attempting to resign Jake in the off season 🤞 if the get rid of smith and graves carter retires only time will tell
I wish Jake all the best

  4. Damn the Dubas hate in the comments is off the Chain! Swung for the fence… got Karlson for 5.5 Mil… got Graves… which allowed them to be the 2nd best D Core in the league up until 2 weeks ago!

Added a Solid veteran in Smith for his team… and gave em the pieces for the Players to show Him what they are… and the did…and it turns out… they're kinda good… but just wayyy to slow!

Then expecting a Mega return for a stud yet injured forward? I'm sorry but y'all Pens fans have been on Cloud 9 for too long!

Y'all had the 2nd Best Defense in Hockey up until 2 weeks ago… and y'all talking about Firing Your Coach?

Go ahead then! Good Luck! What coach in the World can outcoach Father Time?

  5. Dubas will sign anyone who is uner 5'10 and weighs below 160 lbs , weak players and leadership.
Toughness isn't just beating up someone, I mean, team Toughness.
There is no hockey team in Pittsburgh!
Just dudes skating around collecting ludicrous amounts of money for entertainment.

  6. I’m shocked at pittsburgh’s responses.

I don’t think you’re able to objectively value jake guentzel. He’s an honest, average top 6 winger who’s a pending ufa needing contract at 30. This type of transaction happens every other deadline.

Dubas got an absolute haul for him.

  7. This is just a terrible time for the penguins. You ship out a beloved player for what? This is NOT a step in the right direction. And to top it off. He sent Guentzel to a divisional team!
I was afraid this was going to happen. As soon as it became clear that this process was dragging, i knew that this trade was going to disappoint. But on all fronts, it is just bad.
    Clear cap space? Nope.
    Top 5 prospect? Nope.
    Outside the division? Nope.
First round pick? Conditional, so nope.
So what then? Some mid level prospects and Bunting.
This just can't be good for the penguins.
    Dubas just failed here.
He has a lot of ground to make up here. And I honestly don't trust him to do it.

  8. So Dubas is building back to front & that's an issue? Smaller & faster doesn't cut it in the current league? First time listening to one of your takes, I rate it a C-, shoulda went with D.

  9. I think Dubas is pissed at Crosby for Crosby’s sway in GM decision making in Pittsburgh. Crosby lives playing with Guentzel and Malkin and Letang. Seems like a message from Dubas that he’s the boss and will trade anyone

  10. The fin is quiet a good prospect, but he`s at least a year in the AHL away.
Lucius is not even in pro hockey yet. The other one can be a bottom 6 player.
So i wonder, what did the Pens see in this trade?
Bunting at 4,5m doesn`t have much value, he`s a 3rd line grinder, maybe a gritty 2nd line power forward, at best. They go about 4-5m during free agency, but they can fall of a cliff quiet suddenly.
So for now, it`s a 2nd rounder. And only if the Canes make it vs. NYR, BOS, FLA into the finals, then it`s a 1st.
Which i think is unlikely. FLA looks like a team marching to the finals.

Trade doesn`t help them in a retool, trade doesn`t help them in a rebuild. The young Fin looks like the most valuable prospect, as he scored 1 ppg in Finnland, that`s a pretty good league.

  11. They saved 1.5 mill THIS year. Keeping Jake on a new contract would be 8-9 mill so essentially saved up to twice that much the next 2 years. Reality ya can't retain salary on trading Rust,Smith or Rakkel, while trying to make one last run with the core. I think the Fenway Group isn't helping this process

  12. With all due respect to this guy, the NHL is less physical than ever, trending more in that direction, more smaller and better players than ever. Now sure, as a canes fan, I agree that 5'10'' with no wheels isn't a good look, but this isn't the league that you have to be 6'2'', 220 anymore.

  13. Take it from a pens fan….. I’m PISSED! Basically got nothing we were told by dubas they wanted…. whose name is missing an M and and S

  14. I completely disagree. This is what being a "seller" looks like. Instead of picks, by some accounts, the Pens got 3 of Carolina's top 10 "prospects" and all forwards. By the way, by some listings, in that top 10, 1 is a goalie, 4 are defensemen, and 1 (Drury) is currently an every day player on their team. What more do you think you can get for a rental player? If 2 of them play in the NHL, it's a win for the Pens. If 1 hits and becomes an every day top 6, it's a steal.

  15. Good trade. Last thing Pittsburgh needs is signing a 31yo injury prone player to a long contract. Now trade the rest of the +30yo players.
