  1. Was curious to see how Donnie would try to take a dump on this great news, nice pivot to 'well now he's gotta live up to that contract'

  2. We live in a world when the 3rd best player makes way more $ then the 2 guys ahead of him….

  3. Great deal. Petey looked genuinely happy and wanted to stay in Vancouver. We are fortunate to have landed him. Also that JT Miller contract looks amazing now.

  4. Yet another foolish move by Vancouver management.
I'll personally be boycotting the Canucks for the next 8 years.
Let me know when we develop some rugged young Canadian players and I'll start coming to games again.

  5. I find it interesting that his NTC doesn't kick in till yr 2 of the new contract. Possibly still moved if he doesn't start showing up in the big games and or playoff no show? Super happy if he does, but that's a lot of cap tied up in one player if he doesn't!

  6. I think the Canucks should only concentrate on the Hronek contract next. Very impressed with this Management group!😊

  7. I don't believe "the noise" was causing Petey to play less effective. Bunch of BS… He hasn't been noticeable for over a month

  8. It is a reasonable deal considering what Pettersson brings to the team. However, the fact remains that this is an $4.15 million increase in cap hit for one player on the team. Considering that Canucks are always nearly maxing out their cap space already, and knowing that you have Hronek, Joshua, Zadora, Blueger, Lafferty, Linholm, Myers, Podkolzin and DeSmith all on expiring contracts, there is no way you can bring the majority of this team back and still fit under the cap. My guess is that Hronek, Joshua, Blueger and Lafferty will be brought back with a raise (hefty one for Hronek too), Zadora and DeSmith may also come back if they are willing to do so with a team-friendly deal; Podkolzin will be traded, and Lindholm and Myers are likely just going to walk…

  9. 24.9 million in space next year after the deal kicks in and OEL buyout. They aren't in as bad of a spot as people think. The team has many pieces in the AHL to fill out the roster. Theres more than enough cash to keep Joshua, Hronek, Podz ect. Especially if they can unload Mikheyevs 4.75. That would give us nearly 30 million in cap space. The "fans" need to chill out 😂
