  1. Did you ever think other teams weren’t giving the flyers what they wanted for Scotty? Who knows maybe he will be traded at the draft? The good news is he’s cheap.

  2. If we make the playoffs and Laughton plays well, his trade value goes up in the summer time. They didn't get what they wanted so they held on to him. Odds are is that Risto is gone in the off-season anyway.

  3. First caller nailed it. It’s a reBUILD. The point isn’t to tear everything down. Get your assets while continuing to develop the team, the players, and the culture you have.

  4. As Flyers fans, we have such incredible PTSD from years and years of gaslighting GM's.
To me, this doesnt feel like that.

  5. Four 1st and four 2nds in the next two drafts. Maybe your right doesn’t look like a rebuild. We just played two rookie Dmen last night against the best team in the east.

People just keep calling Seeler a 3rd pair dman even though he’s played top 4 all year. Brodes your starting to sound like the old trade G guys

  6. Brodes, everyone and their mother thought the flyers were a bottom five/ten team. You have to tweak your goals after seeing the product on the ice. Briere did a great job at tip-toeing the line between acquiring assets and giving the boys a chance to win a round (or more🥴) in the playoffs.

I’ll say they fell into the trap if Laughts isn’t moved in the summer. For now, I’ll let Briere cook because this front office hasn’t shown me why I need to think otherwise.

  7. Franchise is a joke. They haven't won anything in nearly 50 years. 50!!! They have three players in the top 150 in point production. They do just enough to give promise for next season and they've been doing that for more than 20 years knowing they have a die-hard base who never holds the franchise accountable. I used to live on hockey in the 70s thru the 90s. Flyers management has turned me off of them forever.

  8. I think keeping Scott is the right move for now. Probably would see what he's worth in the off-season.

  9. This is the perfect pace for a rebuild. They have already accumulated 8 picks in the first two rounds for 2024 thru 2025. I would not be surprised if Laughton is moved at the draft. Tear it down slowly and maintain a stable culture along the way.

  10. I agree with your views on Laughton but I will say they don’t need to get rid of him yet, I believe he will have more value in the off-season when teams have cap and a better look at what they need to do to move forward I fully expect to see Laughton moved this off-season. I think Risto is gone too

  11. First year GM sending a message of “respect us” to other GMs and to players. Every move he made seemed to have a deeper meaning calculation to it other than the depth trade. They are rebuilding the whole organization not just the team. I think Briere and company walked a fine line successfully this week.

  12. Rebuild doesnt mean tank. They traded one of their best defenseman for a 1st round pick. Only a rebuilding team would do that when they are in a playoff spot.

  13. Just such a gross overreaction to this trade deadline. You can’t just get rid of everyone for picks, especially if the picks aren’t worth it. Keeping Laughton and Seeler isn’t “they are bending their plan”, they need some veterans on the team for all the young kids. Brodes getting so doom and gloom nowadays

  14. They’re sticking to the plan and you’re overreacting. You want them to make the playoffs you preached how important it would be. Giving up a 4th rounder to aid in that helps. Your views are conflicting

  15. The big part of the rebuild is how good the young players have played this year, York has been so good, tip took a step forward before the injury, frost is a 60 point player if he gets consistent minutes, Farabee is a first line winger with high end defensive abilities, foerester has the make of a consistent 30 goal guy when he gets fully into it. Zamula looks like a solid middle pair guy at the least. This team has some very good pieces already, they have 4 shots in the first round over the next two seasons to get your 1c, you also have a lot of picks in general to be able to package for a 1c. If they get their 1c before mitchkov comes over this team is a contender. The way the metro is shaking out the flyers might be a consistent playoff team with the likes of pit, the caps and the isles getting older. The rangers aren’t exactly young and the canes have their 1D as a 39 year old Brent burns. So it’s not out of the possibility that in 2 years more metro teams fall off. They also have a good group of young players coming in barkey, bonk, Tuamaalu and some underrated ncaa prospects. More moves will be made this off-season so let’s try to wait until then to make more judgements
