Florida was still able to come from behind and beat Washington on Saturday with no Kevin Stenlund and Matthew Tkachuk. Nick Cousins got his first goal in 34 games and was an assist away from a Gordie Howe Hat Trick. Aleksander Barkov has scored two goals since Dec. 16 and Sam Reinhart is goal-less in the last six games, yet the Panthers are 5-1-0 in that stretch. We discuss how this stretch checks so many boxes in how ready they are for the postseason as they navigate this halfway to three-quarters posrtion of the schedule. Florida has allowed two goals or less in their last 13 games, 11-2-0 in that span. Lastly, what are the chances that the Panthers trade for Reilly Smith? Smith spend two season in Florida and recorded 40 goals and 47 assists for 87 points. There were not so nice comments said prior to the Edmonton Bubble when we was a member of the Vegas Golden Knights. Are they forgivable? Did Smith have a fight to feel frustrated with poor attendance? More importantly, does a trade happen? It’s crazy the loyalty sports fans have to support their team that hasn’t won in 57 years regardless of quality
Who gets the roster boot if we get Smith? Sucks to send a guy down when our roster seems fine.
Buffalo game? Their goaltender Luukkonen has been lately very good.
Smith has NTC.. I seriously doubt Florida is on his list. That doesn't fit with Zito's MO of "guys who want to be here play here"… If anything he goes back to Vegas as long as he did not burn that bridge back.
