I think people really underestimate how big of an impact this had on the Sabres imploding. He was supposed to be a pillar of the new core the Sabres built in the early 2010s but basically couldn’t play anymore so we had to get rid of him for nothing. We wouldn’t have been *good* but probably wouldn’t have become bottom feeders either.
