The Minnesota Wild picked up a point but ultimately fell against St. Louis falling 3-2 in a shootout. The Wild fell behind 2-0 after goals by Jordan Kyrou and Brayden Schenn before Marco Rossi scored his 18th goal of the season to make it 2-1 at the start of the 3rd. Kirill Kaprizov scored his 35th goal of the season to tie the score with 4 minutes left. The Wild had good chances in OT but ultimately fell in the shootout after Freddy Gaudreau failed to score in the final round. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 of 37 shots in net for the Wild. Minnesota plays Anaheim for their next game on Tuesday as part of a back to back on the road.

L&L both just made it through waivers. That means every team in the NHL declined picking them up for nothing. The Wild could pass at least a third of their current roster through waivers without any risk of losing anyone. The Wild have a great core going forward but to compete consistently you need a full team.
Both these teams are mediocre at best
